Editorial review from Citysearch 11/27/2013

I have had a fantastic experience at Tana's Physical Therapy and would recommend it to anyone suffering with pain. My daughter and I were involved in a car accident on July 14, 2013 and needed physical therapy. My doctor recommended Tana's because it's the place he goes. \r \r I play tennis about 4 times a week but the car accident caused me pain in my neck, back and right knee. This pain greatly reduced my ability to play tennis like I was previous to the accident. However, with the messages, exercises and attention focused on getting me back to 100% I'm now able to play tennis and feel great again. I would not be playing if it wasn't for Nabila and her great staff!!!!!\r \r I am glad to have my normal life back and so is my daughter. Thank you Tana's!!!! more

Cary Office 12/10/2011

Had an interview here, but unfortunately didn't get hired. They never called back or anything to say yea or no which was very unprofessional! But besides that it is a very nice facility and staff seems very friendly and knowlegable about what they do in their office. They also offer massage therapy which I though was pretty cool too. Everyone seemed laid back. more

Tanas Physical Therapy (Raleigh office) 8/28/2009

I was rear-ended in a car accident. I went for physical therapy at another provider. Their evaluation of my condition was extremely superficial. I was ‘treated’ in a huge room with many other people. I had no privacy at all. The staff was so busy chatting and shouting across the room to each other that they didn’t pay attention to my treatment. The workers were all quite young and were too busy having fun on the job. They spent a lot of time making me do exercises which I could have done at home. Consequently, they only did manual therapy on my neck and back for 15 minutes. This was performed while I was seated in a chair rather than lying down. That was wrong since it hurt to hold my head up. I quickly dropped them after three sessions and found my way to Tanas Physical Therapy (at their Raleigh office).\r \r Nabila Tanas had me complete many pages of forms detailing every ache and limitation I had. Her examination uncovered multiple problems that the other facility completely missed! Her professionalism, experience, and competence was apparent from the very first visit. She performed soft tissue, pressure point therapy, and electrical stimulation that finally began to help my condition. If any part of my therapy was conducted by her knowledgeable assistant, she still checked in on me. It was never a case of being handed off to some poorly trained subordinate. Everyone listened carefully to my issues, my preference for deep stimulation, etc. The entire staff took a personal interest in my case and I knew I was in great hands. Aside from the medical treatment I received, they provided insight into how my claims should be filed since this was the result of an accident. \r \r I cannot say enough good things about Tanas Physical Therapy. Receiving such intensive and individualized care in this day and age is unheard of! I wish someone had told me about them before I wasted time and money at that other facility.\r \r Pros: Best Physical Therapy Facility more

Thorough and Effective 8/20/2009

I received the best treatment here that I have ever gotten anywhere. Ive had various sports injuries and been to at least 3 PT offices in the past 10 years. Most of them were seeing multiple clients at the time. I cant say enough good things about the office staff, the therapists and Nabila. You'll have to find out for yourself that these guys are awesome. Pros: None better more

The best physical therapy in the Triangle - period. 11/21/2007

I first began going to Tanas PT 7 years ago after injuring myself backpacking. She examined me thoroughly and set me up with a schedule of visits, each of which included electric stim, trigger point therapy and ultrasound. She also examined my gait and footware - essential components for a backpacker. Ultimately I began wearing custom footbeds that she assisted me with, which made an enormous difference.\r \r As I continued to age I began suffering debilitating back spasms with increased frequency. They eventually became so bad I had to give up my one great passion in life - cycling. I turned again to Tanas, with somewhat low expectations because this condition seemed chronic. I'll never forget when Nabila, sensing my frustration, told me to take off my shirt and look at myself sideways in a mirror. She grabbed another physical therapist and let us compare our backs. Mine was grossly misshapen; it was apparent I had severe kyphosis (hunchback). Nabila explained that this was the root cause of all my problems. Her next words will always remain with me: ""It is usually very difficult for someone your age to correct this back to normal but I will help you.""\r \r I visited Nabila on and off over the next few years for other issues. Each time she assisted me with my back problems in addition to whatever else I was visiting her for. A turning point came when she had me spend a full hour with an exercise physiologist, who introduced me to the swiss ball. I finally began obeying and listening to everything she told me to do. I started arising early to work on my back with the swiss ball. I would supplement it with her therapy. Over time people began remarking how much taller I looked. My parents, who don't see me very often, said, ""Mark your back is just incredible!"" I continued to work hard and go to Tanas PT.\r \r Today I am back on my bike and riding as strong as ever. Nabila has literally given me back my life. She has tremendous knowledge & experience. Pros: Deep experience, knowledge, educational, committment, passion and compassion more

up and down 3/10/2007

I went in initially for low back pain, and my first visit was good, the girl was really knowledgeable and friendly and I was feeling positive. But I never got the same person again, and eventually ended up with just a massage therapist treating me. And I got billed for physical therapy just the same. Plus, it didn't seem like anyone had any of the initial information on me. I was really disappointed and found another clinic. more

Caring and professional staff 1/26/2007

After several disappointing sessions at three different physical therapy facilities, one of my doctors recommended that I try the PT program at Tanas Physical Therapy. Nabila Tanas, Licensed Physical Therapist and owner, was very professional in the assessment of my physical problems and subsequent treatments. \r At Tanas Physical Therapy, there exists a warm and caring concern for me as a person combined with professional treatment and positive results which I was unable to find anywhere else. This is a rare combination in today's ""bottom line"" world.\r \r -Doris, a happy patient more

druk is so wrong! 3/28/2006

I have to take issue with druk's review. There is no ""girl"" who evaluated her, Nabila does all evaluations personally. Her form of physical therapy is not common in the US which is what makes her so valuable. She deals mostly with Travelle trigger point and various other massage techniques along with posture re-education and corrective exercise in a gym. All of her therapists, massage or physical therapy, are fully supervised by Nabila herself and trained by her. Her knowledge base and experience is second to none.\r \r I have been with Nabila for almost 4 years. Nowhere have I received the amount of relief I do each time I see her and I've been going for maintenance work for over 30 years. I have fibromyalgia, spinal and nerve problems, TMJ, migraines and tension headaches, myofascial pain, hypermobility, and joint problems. \r \r If you want gyms with fancy machines and little 1:1 patient-driven contact with a therapist, she's not the one for you. There are literally dozens of these PTs out there. There's only one Tanas PT. Great atmosphere, great staff, great results. 15-20 min massage, same for ultrasound and for electric stim. Then exercise. Traction available too. No way did druk find someone better - I've been to most of them around the triangle already. If you need rehab, she'll tell you up front. Otherwise there is nothing she cannot treat. She can work miracles, truly. Pros: Thorough, Knowledgable, Pleasant Cons: No aqua therapy more
