I have been going to Taminga's for 15 years. Steve is great. He always tells me what is wrong and the approximate charge. I totally trust him with my vehicles. They are reasonable. more

My Wife and I live South of Grand Rapids by about 20 miles. We took her car to a garage service in our hometown to get an estimate on Brakes and a Tire Pressure trouble light that wouldn't turn off. We were given an estimate on those two items and were told that she would need new brakes all around, new front tires (they said one was defective and was causing the Tire Pressure Light to stay on) and new shocks all around. She decided to get a second opinion at Tamminga's who informed her there was nothing wrong with the shocks and that the Tire Pressure trouble light was a defective light - not the tires. They also told us that the back brakes were fine and only the fronts needed to be replaced. \r Their pricing was very competitive and most of all - they were honest with us !!! i just moved to the area and my car died on 36th street just before the 131 South bound on ramp. So needless to say I was in a really bad spot. I didn't know where to have the tow truck take my car so I asked my uncle, who happens to live in the area. He told me to take it to Tamminga's. He was closed so we left if over night and I called and talked to him in the morning. It was something very minor and he fixed it right up and I got my car back the next day. My experience is when my son was driving back from Ann Arbor. This was his first road trip on his own. Our Azteck broke down on the Highway. We Live in Calumet, MI. (UP), but we happen to be visiting my mother in Ludington that weekend. It was Sunday before Labor Day. So nothing was open. We had to call a tow truck to get him off the highway and was refereed Tamminga's through Merl's Towing service! (TOP NOTCH). So we left our car in the parking lot of Tamminga's hoping for the best!!Called Tammingas on Tuesday morning and talked to Steve. The owner. He reassured me told me they would look at my car and call back with an estimate. He called back with what I thought was going to be my right arm and left leg, but was very reasonable and honest!! I was very relieved! My car was ready on Wednesday. I would highly recommend going to Tamminga's for any auto repair if you happen to be in the Grand Rapids area! we have taken our cars to Tamminga's garage for years now. They are super friendly and will not over charge you or do anything to your car without your authorization first. We were recommended to them from a friend and have been completely satisfied with them. I highly reccomend them for your next car repair. They are sometimes pretty busy but most of the time you can get your car in the same day and fixed. more
