Cowboy Bunkhouse 9/7/2010

We came for an extended family wedding and had both a car and an RV. The cowboy bunk house was awesome and we had the yard for people to visit and have a BBQ. We will definitely use the bunk house on future trips. The cabin had charm, comfortable beds and plenty of hot water. It was hard to drag Grandma out as she felt she had come home. The only thing that could have made the experience better would be a broom as everyone running in and out to show off the pump brought in dirt and pine needles. I would highly recommend the Cowboy Bunkhouse over a sterile hotel room. more

Not for tent camping..... 7/5/2010

We had booked to camp here for a few nights as it sounded like a good location to visit the Coeur d'Alene attractions. There are only 3 tent sites (with sand bases) and, when we arrived, there was a cat pooping in one of them. There was also cat poop around the edge of the one we used.\r \r The bathrooms were clean and had hot water, but we had a bad night's sleep due to a street light directly over the tent sites which made it far too bright to get to sleep. The site was also noisy with vehicles driving round in the middle of the night.\r \r The place is fine if you're in an RV, but I wouldn't camp here again. more

Shady No More! 1/27/2008

Wow, what a difference! We've stayed at Shady Acres Campground off and on in past years, but when we last stayed at the newly renamed and revamped Tamarack RV Park in the fall of '07, we were pleasantly surprised. Gone were all the old mobile homes, and in their place we found new pull-throughs with 50 amp service. The bathhouse is newly renovated and clean, and new management has added two large tepees for rent, as well as a charming bunkhouse decorated in a western theme for vacation rental. Rates are still reasonable, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. more

shady at best 6/2/2005

Shady Acres is a very run down campground that is also a trailer park. There are very old trailers that are in very bad shape. Some people even live in campers and cars/trucks. Not clean either. more
