Excellent service. 3/2/2017

The sales person I worked with at Tamalpais Hardwood Floors was really great. When the floors arrived from the manufacturer, he noticed that there were a lot of knots in the wood. We were having our entire downstairs done with this flooring and that wasn't what we wanted. He called the manufacturer and told them the wood product wasn't up to the standard or quality they had sold the customer and they were sending it back. The manufacturer sent new flooring which was up to standard and we were very happy with it. That was definitely going above and beyond for the sales person. The installers showed up on time and did a fantastic job installing the floors. We are extremely happy with everything and we would use them again. We have recommended them to friends and will continue to tell others about them. more

Happy with their selection, service and products. 2/10/2017

I would recommend Tamalpais Hardwood Floors, I was satisfied with their services. I liked the products that they had, I liked their selection. I liked that the employees that came here were very nice and when there was a problem with the hardwood floors, like when there was a spot that I wasn't happy with, they didn't make a big deal about coming back and fixing it. It seemed like they wanted to make sure that they did a good job which I appreciated. The difficulty I had was that sometimes it was hard to get a hold of them. They didn't always call me back and they weren't as responsive as I wanted them to be when had a question. I had to call them several times before I would hear back from them. That was the only thing that I thought they could improve. more

Great job. 1/2/2017

We used Tamalpais Hardwood Floors to do the hardwood floors for our entire downstairs, which is about 1200 square feet. The crew was great to work with and they did an excellent job. They were very professional, reliable, and had really good communication. When it came to the end of the job, they were very conscientious about the cleanup, very thorough and service orientated. more

Overall good experience 11/21/2016

I decided to go with Tamalpais Hardwood Floors partly because they installed the original flooring in the house, but also because they seemed really knowledgeable.The people who came out and did the install were incredibly polite and respectful. I could tell they cared about the quality of the work. We had some of our old hardwood flooring refinished and stained. We also had some new hardwood put in an entrance way, a powder bathroom, up the steps, and in several hallways. more

Good job 10/10/2016

I found Tamalpais Hardwood Floors after reading reviews on one of those websites. They weren't the cheapest but their reviews were really great. I had them install 800 square feet of hardwood flooring in my home. I am happy with the service. The floors look good. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Very professional. The job had a couple of hitches. But I don't think I would hold them accountable. There was a delay in the job being finished on time so I was out of town when they finished and wasn't able to do the final walk through with them. I haven't yet had the chance to go over things with them, but have no reason to believe they won't work with me on any issues there might be. I would recommend them to other people. more

Top notch job and affordable to boot 8/11/2015

This was a great experience right out of the gate. We were installing a new kitchen floor that had to integrate with the existing floors. The owner came out personally and assessed the job, gave us an unbeatable quote (which was also the final total cost) and slotted his guys perfectly into our remodel schedule. The flooring team checked in with us constantly when they had any questions, as our floor was a bit tricky in places. Our wood floors are now more beautiful than they've ever been. more

Tamalpais Hadwood Floors does a great job---they installed a new floor---helped me choose the best color and type of flooring. Previously, they refinished my living room hardwood floors---terrific job. In both cases, they charged less than other quotes (in one case, much less), were on time, very efficient and tidy. I highly recommend them. more

Excellent workman, product good staff 6/11/2015

I sell real estate and deal with lots of contactors and products. The flooring is as beautiful and good as it gets. The workman were courteous , competent and worked around our schedule. Our experience with Tam Floors was excellent from the minute we walked into their show room. Their selection was very good and we felt no pressure. The flooring arrived and they were installed within about a week. The craftsmanship and attention to detail was admirable and the crew was efficient, friendly and kind to our dog. The place to go for hardwood flooring 4/23/2014

We have now been living with our new hardwood floors for a few weeks and they are fantastic--everything we hoped for! Our experience with Tamalpais was very smooth. They are professional, knowledgeable, and customer focused. Tampalpais Hardwood Floors has a huge selection of flooring options. After taking several samples home to ensure color match, we decided on a French White Oak flooring by Panaget. It took a couple of weeks for the flooring to arrive, it was then delivered to our house where it needed to rest for a week or two to adjust to the new environment. The installation went smoothly, and the installers were knowledgeable, focused, and extremely hard-working. They removed all of our old carpeting and installed the hardwood flooring room by room. We continued living in our house. The installers were very respectful of the house and the process took our needs into consideration. Yes, it is a big job, but Tamalpais made it easy! more

Dermot Coogan and his team were professional, conscientious and helpful with the work to our home this past October. Wonderful team of men that were really pleasant, friendly and good people to work with. I am extremely happy with their workmanship and service throughout the duration of the project. I had used them 10 years ago, the work was beautiful then and still is today. Highly recommend them! more

I would recommend Tamalpais Hardwood Floors for either new hardwood installation or refinishing of hardwood floors. They were excellent in working with my crazy construction schedule and knew the product very well. I had three different surfaces they needed to deal with all with different heights and the resulting floor looks fabulous. (We used very dark engineered wood) We were very happy with the installers, as well as Dermot the owner and office staff who were quite accomodating and friendly. I have already recommended them to a friend who also used them and was very happy with the result. Thanks for doing a great job, you made our mid century ranch look very contemporary and we couldn't be more pleased. more

The end result of the floors was better than I expected. 5/31/2013

The end product was excellent. There was a misunderstanding about the finish date which caused travel/hotel and additional expense and inconvenience. more

Love my new floors! 4/26/2013

Tamalpais Hardwood Floors provides a great product, great customer service and a good price. We have used them twice and had 2 very good experiences. This time we went with the engineered walnut which uses an oil stain - it looks amazing!! more
