Worst Indian Restaurant Ever eaten!!!
The reatsurant space is cramped up & couple of booths are there & only 2 people can sit in them.
The restroom in this restaurant was more spacious compared to the restaurant space.
Shame for the kind of food this restaurant prepares & calls it Indian food & worst customer service....
We ordered Vegetable Biriyani, Naan, Mattar Paneer, Malai Kofta,Onion Kulcha.
Only 1 server/cashier, 1 greeter who cannot even speak English- so useless to be in such a position.Cannot answer anything when asked about menu.
The one server was doing everything. I guess that's why he didn't even care when we said that we did not the Biriyani & he said that's how we make it here. What a kind of answer for developing business.
Usually in any restaurant/Store here in US except this one when a customer says they are not satisfied with an item or product they do charge them & offer to provide a different product. Here they charged us & inspite of us telling that we do not want the Biriyani when they offered to remake it & order something. They brought it back with lots of oil & lots of chilli powder & charged us.
The Biriyani rice did not look like it was made from Basmati rice(but apparently it was) as the rice was broken & looked like it was made from a Biriyani paste like the one we get in Indian groceries.
Tasteless,Odorless which are not the qualities of a good Biriyani.
They have decorations of Moghuls & Biriyani is from the Moghuls...
Shame on you guys.....
The raita was so sour. I think they must have made it in the morning & left it out for the buffet & brought the same thing back as they did not want to eat themselves & did not want to throw it away & wanted to make money on it.
The naan was cold and not so soft ,onion kulcha & mattar paneer were average & malai kofta was below average as kofta did not tast like kofta but like bonda, the gravy wasn't that tasteful....
BTW, the server brought a rice pudding saying that it was on them for the Biriyani issue which was also tasteless & odorless as it was old one too..
We should have stepped out when we saw very less crowd.
Never ever are we going to step into this restaurant again...
And we would not recommend to anyone this restaurant even if there no Indian restaurant other this one.
No wonder that being one of the oldest restaurants (as they claim) in austin , it does not the food critics say that it is the best.
Clay pit is far better than this one....
