Not only is the mariachi excellent, but the food is stellar and the most authentic I've had on the East Coast. This is a diamond in the rough - beware fine-diners, you are not walking into the darkened chic of Newbury Street's corner cousin Casa Romero. This is the land of real Mexican beer, real Mexican hot sauce (I mean HOT), real Mexican fare and the culture is there. Yes, you might wait a bit longer for the waitress to say hello, but you have plenty to do deciding on your meal, looking at the walls filled with memorabilia of Mariachi (I can only imagine are the photos of the family that owns the place), and listening to the music. This place is one of Boston's best kept secrets.
Pros: Inexpensive, Live music, Authentic cuisine
