Best

This is an old fashioned taco stand that you don't find in so CA anymore what a delight. There are mexican food places on every corner if you want authentic or just drive 2 hours ...

Worst

I don't know how they have an 8.8. This place was no better than taco bell. At least taco bell has a larger selection.

NEED TO BRING BACK PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT 5/3/2010

Every since the one mgr, young girl with short hair, hasn't been there-TACO LITA STINKS! I have been a faithful customer for 30 years, but lately the beans are burned or simply taste like all salt, and then othr times they taste like canned beans. Also, the lobby is a mess durng the day, people are rude at daytime, my soda isn't carbonated; no bubbles, and the meat is charred, kinda like dennison's chili. The shells are good, but at lunchtime the food is last on anyone's list of concerns. Why? At night it was very very good, but that's still not like it was. That one girl always paid attn to my conerns and I never had a bad experience. The pretty blonde girl who runs the place during the day listens, works hard, and is nice, but I'm still not satisfied with the quality of food. I know she's been there forever and I hope she can fix this.Thinking of eating elsewhere, but I really enjoy the attitudes of kids that work real hard on friday nights when my family faithfully dines in for the taco deal night. I wonder if taco lita's owners have changed? Whoever is in charge of the food during the day really needs to learn the recipes for taco lita's authentic, one of a kind, taste. It was built on that, and it's success was derived by having something no one else did. If taco lita reads this, I hope you will take heed now and teach your cooks the taco lita taste and get more supervisors like the one who had blue hair, who really knew how to listen; and the food was good, she cared about customers, and the kids worked hard, and were courteous, efficient, and kept that place clean. My family, friends, and co-workers are all very loyal and hope this is just a phase and Taco lita will pull through. You have our support Pros: night mgr, new?, very nice, but where is the usual girl? Cons: The quality of food isn't what taco lita was built on more

good american mexican food 11/21/2009

Very good american mexican food. Jumbo burrito is now 6 bucks. Should be 4 to 5 or made bigger. Combo burrito is almost as much and small. Wouldn't mind paying the money if they made the food bigger. I need to spend 20.00 to get satisfied. If you call a burrito a jumbo it should be jumbo size. Awesome tasting drinkable hot sauce. I dont know why people keep comparing it to taco bell. It isn't even a close comparison. Taco bell is trucked in bagged dog food that is heated up and add some cheese sauce squirts and thick pasty fake shredded cheddar. Pros: good fresh food Cons: overpriced small portions more

Beats Taco Bell 7/31/2009

This is an old fashioned taco stand that you don't find in so CA anymore what a delight. There are mexican food places on every corner if you want authentic or just drive 2 hours if you are a purest. I love the seasnoning of their meat, the beans taste fresh not like mud like TB and they give generous portions.Their taco sauce is good just medium but favorful no need to burn your face off! The only down side is not much seating and there are lines because of their personlized service.I love a great big combo burrito with loads of sauce. You'd need to buy 2 at TB and still taste like mud compaired to Taco Lita. Thanks for the many years! more

GREAT ANY TIME! 1/30/2009

American Taco Stand that remains popular year after year. 11/14/2006

This isn't the place to go if you're looking for an authentic taco stand, unless you're looking for an American Taco. The only meat you'll find here is seasoned ground beef. However, it's seasoned right and tastes good enough to keep this place packed every day at lunchtime and fairly busy during dinner hours as well. The ingredients seem fresh and taste a lot better than 'Taco Bell', as some other reviewers mentioned. The menu is pretty simple, tacos, combo burritos, all meat burritos, tostadas, and the famous Jumbo Burrito. Wednesdays you can get the special Combo Burrito, taco, and a drink for a fair price of around $6.50. This place has been around here a long time and has always been a local favorite. The hot sauce goes just perfect with the style of the food. It keeps lots of people going back year after year including me. Get there early for lunch unless you want to stand in a pretty long line. Pros: American Tacos and Burritos done well. Great Hot Sauce. Decent value. Cons: Can get crowded at lunchtime. Very little seating area. more

AMAZING 4/5/2006

I love this place so much someone actually bought me a box of hot sauce for christmas one year. When i moved from arcadia I would drive the hour drive to bring new friends to eat here! Their cheese is the best! Pros: cheese, hot sauce more

Step above Taco Bell 9/28/2003

White-wash Mexican food. A step up barely from Taco Bell. No authentic Mexican dishes you'd expect from a taco stand. This is exactly like a Taco Bell but better quality. If you want authentic Tacos check out La Estrella Tacos or any King Taco near you. Pros: Better than TacoBell Cons: No authentic food more

Great Taste 9/5/2002

Very beefy, Jumbo Burritos. The food is simple and fantastic. Their sauce is unique and for everybody. Not too spicy but definetly full of flavor. Pros: Fast service, Fresh made Cons: Seating is poor more

SpecTACOular 8/9/2002

My parents introduced me to Taco Lita in 1959 their stand in Pomona, Ca. now in Duarte, I don't miss a week without a combo. Pros: crowded, inexpensive more

Best Hot Sauce in LA 8/8/2002

My college roommate introduced me to Taco Lita. I never thought a bean and cheese burrito would taste so good. You pay next to nothing compared to what you get. Their hot sauce is so famous & delicious that they sell it by the bag. Pros: Food, Hot Sauce more

Hooked 5/20/2002

It's like crack for me, I gotta have it. A combo burrito, a taco, and a large Cherry Pepsi. Their hot sauce is the best, no other Mexican restaurant comes close. I just wish it wasn't closed on Sundays, I start going through withdrawals. more
