Taco Cabana

My family and I have been fans of this particular Taco Cabana for well over a decade. We have NEVER had a bad experience here, and guess what? It's all made fresh, and they are NOT franchise but independatly owned! \r I don't know why the bad reviews, personally they are not warranted at all! This is the best Taco Cabana in Albuquerque, and they run circles around the ones in El Paso also! more

I LOVE Taco Cabana. I've been going there since the late nineties. It's awesome! Super nachos and the burrito ultimo are my favorite. This location and the location on Montgomery are the best in town. The other locations are not as good. Must be different ownership or something. more

My friend and I ended up at Taco Cabana, after absolutely ALL dining options had already closed...This has got to be the most terrible restaurant I have ever eaten in. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by a ""greasy oily"" smell that's strong enough to clog your arteries. The service is slow and the food is absolutely AWFUL. Big Greasy, tasteless portions, with lots of cheese and ""cream"" - exactly what Americans shouldn't be eating. tastes like its been frozen forever and are ""warming it up"" as you wait. Taco Bell would be a better choice than this fraud. Mexican? really? this is not even close to being Mexican, How in the world do they stay in business? The Kitchen from client's view is a MESS, dirty floor and cooking gear everywhere. Wouldn't be surprised to find roaches and mice. Third World standards. Albuquerque, you deserve better! I cannot believe the POOR level of service and food I recieved from there. I'm from Texas where Taco Cabana reigns over all other fast food mexican food. Every time I was in town visiting, I HAD to get some Taco Cabana. BUT...... the quality of the location on San Mateo is discraceful!!! Even drunk, it is unacceptable according to the normal standards. If I worked for Taco Cabana, I would close this location DOWN!!!!! Every time I go there my order is either incorrect or unedible. They forget things that I paid for and the things I did recieve are usually aweful. I will give credit to the few things that they do give correctly,they are awesome, but that's usually ONE thing out of an order of eight things. Pretty bad odds. And when kids are criyng because they have NO dinner, or NOT what they wanted, what I paid for??? REDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND on top of all that, everytime they screw things up royally, they won't give me a refund. It's all the sudden my fault for ordering from them in the first place, I should have known better! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! Best fresh Mexican food; great fresh, good tasting salsas, pico de gallo,& other condiments. Always have gotten exactly what we ordered, staff always pleasant. Try the taquitos/flautas - excellent. Refried beans taste strongly of pork; too much lard! Mexican rice - excellent. Do not go to the other ""Taco Cabanas;"" you will be disappointed. I have twice ordered far from what I have recieved ..The 1st time I orderd nachos, I recieved some tortilla chips with a Min. amount of cheese..The 2nd time I TWICE ordered a spinach quesadilla and recieved a cheese....I explained the problem to your manager and was not only called a liar, but was degrated because I have never had to be disgraced and save a receipt to PROVE that I am telling the truth. I have had many co-workers complain of many of the same occurances , and am now bringing them to public attention. I appreciated your business and understanding until now. I do not appreciate the way myself, my family and my friends have been treated and you will finallly hear from the lot of us! I do not recommend eating here as you will be treated as a liar and cheat! Pros: food is excellant! Cons: manager is rude, myself treated badly, friends treated badly more
