There are two Tabby's locations around Mason, the following review references the location in Maineville, OH on rt. 22.
We went to this bar/restaurant on a Friday night in May. The place was crowded but not packed. We were greeted by a friendly host who asked if we'd like a table. We told her we would just sit at the bar and order drinks- big mistake.
There were three or four bartenders behind the bar, one of whom was a young woman who was visibly pregnant and another was a young man who informed us he was not old enough to serve us drinks. We asked politely if there was anyone who could take a drink order, whilst watching the other two bartenders completely ignore us and wait on their friends and the regulars who already had drinks.
After 26 minutes of literally standing at the bar (I was checking the time) one of the young female bartenders approached us unhappily to take our drink order. My husband ordered one of their beers on tap and I ordered a simple mixed drink (rum & diet coke). The bartender then informed us that they were out of glasses. A bar that is out of glasses, yes really, this is what we were told. I pointed out to the bartender that we would be perfectly fine using plastic or any other kind of cup and she flatly said no, walked off to serve someone who already had a drink, and ignored us as we continued to try to get the attention of anyone at the bar.
Given we'd driven 20 minutes to try out this place, I tried one last time to ask the bartender who told us they were out of glasses if they'd washed any or if we could get any drinks of any kind. At this point she informed us she was not obligated to serve us if she did not wish. I asked to speak to the manager and his exact words when I told him about this particular bartender: ""Oh, don't let her bother you, she is a b****."" After this encounter we walked out without ordering anything, I did not feel comfortable patronizing a bar like that.
I have a fairly high tolerance for rude customer service but this was definitely pushing it. The place was dirty, leftover half eaten wings on every table in addition to the rude staff and poor beer selection, the hour and a half we wasted trying to get served here was one of the worst nights I’ve had in recent history.
This bar has by far the worst customer service and bartenders of any I've been to in the greater Cincinnati area. I work in customer service and typically would not take the time to write reviews like this, but this was just terrible. Beware of any reviews that rate this place well, it is most likely the managers, employees, or their friends. Everyone I've talked to who has been here in the past year has had a similarly awful experience.
DO NOT waste your money or time by going to Tabby's.
