Best

Need a kid-friendly spot to relax with a good cup of coffee and gelato? Teo has you covered. Flavors like Cookies and Cream will satisfy little ones, while grown-ups might opt for...

Worst

Drinks were good but not sure I'll be returning. The owner seems like a jackass to the patrons and employees. Not impressed.

Don't forget the Italian style coffee! 1/3/2007

Everyone talks about how good the gelato is but Teo's also has a secret weapon. Try ordering there Italian style coffee for a surprise. I am no coffee freak but I go to Starbucks like everyone else and Teo's Italian style is way better. Mr. Teo should do more to promote this tasty stuff. Especially good after your favorite gelato! Pros: gelato and authentic italian coffee more

Best Gelato 10/30/2006

I just tried this place with a friend and had difficulty finding it. I am not really directionally challenged but if you are at all I recommend calling them and get specific instructions because their sign is small and you can spend 15 minutes looking for it if you don't know exactly where you are going. But the confusion is totally worth it!! The best gelato - better than ice cream any day. Try the nutella for a true Italian treat. The honey flavor is also really good and unique! And the other reviewers are right - you can try any flavor and they don't act like its a pain (as some ice cream places do). One last thing, get a size smaller then you think you could eat. I found when I got the medium size the container looked small but you would be amazed at what they can fit in there! And you can mix flavors if you like which is great. Pros: Really GOOD Cons: NONE more

Incredible! 7/3/2006

The gelato here is absolutely amazing. And you don't find friendlier staff, they let you try every flavor in the case until you find something you like. Their espresso drinks are actually made correctly too! I was so excited. They also opened a store in the Tech Ridge HEB off of Parmer Lane that has a drive-thru for those who live more north.. Pros: Great and fast service, seating inside and outside, great food! more

TEOSROCKS! 8/28/2004

I went here recently and man, was it difficult to find (exiting off of 35 onto 38 1/2 street) but definitely worth the trouble! The Gelato was great, I got to try Creme Caramel and Pistachio and both were absolutely delicious! It was definitely worth the confusion to get there! The people here are very nice and accomodating and the place has that ""corner ice cream shop"" feel. The place is dimly lit but still gives a very personal touch. If I had kids, I'd definitely bring them here! Lower fat then regular ice cream and tastier too! Word of advice, eat your gelato quick! Mine melted too fast :-(. Pros: Great Gelato, Good service, Nice locals Cons: , small signs more

Totally Addictive! 6/5/2004

Once you try their gelato, you will become hooked. Knowing it is healthier than regular ice cream is a total bonus. The staff are so friendly, and you are able to try as many flavors as you want before you pick one (or 2 or 3...) to eat. The owner is often at the store, and is always excited to share about a new flavor. The location isn't ideal, but it is definitely worth the effort. Pros: unique, friendly, delicious more

Best Ice Cream in Austin 6/3/2004

This is the best ice cream in Austin by a long shot. The blenders have a very sensitive sense of taste- the ice cream is never heavy handed or cloying. The portions are not meant to sustain a family of five for a week, like some other shops I could mention, but I consider this a plus, not a minus. The sugar and fat free and soy options are actually fairly tasty. The medium is a good size for most adults, and you can have up to three flavors in a cup. Very close to the Italian experience- only missing the small cookie the Italians use for decoration. Pros: Amazing flavor, Personal touch, Good varieties Cons: , Needs small cookie more

Babbo's is a winner! 2/29/2004

Not only are the many flavors absolutely heavenly (and they encourage you to try them before you decide), but the service deserves an A+. I was thrilled when they told me their gelato is made with whole milk instead of heavy cream so it's got 1/3 less fat than your average ice cream. Several no sugar/no fat flavors are also very tasty. more

Unique & tasty! 2/6/2004

I tried gelato for the first time at Babbo's. It is delicious! They usually have many different flavors to choose from at Babbo's (about 25 maybe?), ranging from non-fat gelatos, soy gelatos, etc. My favorites are the tiramisu, mango, oreo, cinnamon and pistachio gelatos. The baristas are cute too! Pros: Variety/many choices, not expensive, friendly service more
