Sylvan Learning of Cookeville and Crossville

After living in Putnam County for 4 years, & the public school system (CHS),completely failing to educate my child, we turned to PLA, where he has in half a year caught up to where he should be. This is a years worth of work. You receive weekly progress reports, & the class size is kept to a minimum, where your child can get the help if they need it. It is ashame we have to pay for what he should be able to receive in the public school system. I will say my child does not need any special services, but he was intimidated by the size of the school, & harassed from administration. At PLA the students are encouraged to succeed, and regardless of tuition, all teachers should be held responsible for helping students, and reporting their progress to parents. more

After my first meeting with Mr. Keisling, I was promised the world, and I expected it. He told me that I would have a new child by Christmas. After sending my child three hours a week for two months, and working with her for 30 minutes every night, her school teacher told me that whatever I was spending on Sylvan was a waste of money. There had been no change in her school work whatsoever. \r I was promised a full refund after my child's follow up progress report showed very little change. I got a check in the mail for a very small fraction of what I paid. \r I am incredibly disappointed in Sylvan. I would not recommend it to anyone. more
