Sylvan worked for my 4th grade son 6/2/2010

My son was reading at at 2.1 reading comprehension grade level when we started Sylvan in March of last year. He was in 3rd grade. We got a couple of months under our belt and went throughout the summer as much as we could. He started the school year out at a 2.5 reading comprehension grade level when he started 4th grade but his vocabulary was up to 5th grade. We slowed down the vocabulary and focused on his reading comprehension. By this school years end he was comprehending at a 5.0 grade level. We are so glad we could do this for our son. He likes to read now. He hated it before! Pros: Julie is the director and she is great to work with. Cons: distance I had to drive to get there more

Sylvan Works! 6/11/2009

When my son would put words in Alphabetical order, he would have to recite the ABC?s every time he came across a word. He was also afraid of making mistakes in reading. \r \r Sylvan has helped my son improve his reading. He is more confident in reading and tries harder in school. Now he can put groups of words in Alphabetical order just by looking at the first letter. He does not have to recite the ABC?s over and over again. The program is great more
