Great place to get work done 2/11/2011

If you ever want to sit and write or work on your college thesis, Swork is the place - if you can wrest a table from one of the many other people doing the same thing. Great coffee and friendly staff is a bonus. Way better than going to Star**cks. more

A Work-Friendly Coffee Shop 1/31/2010

Swork is actually a pretty good place to work from. The place has tons of table space and, if there's not a table available, there are benches (complete with comfy red cushions!) to sit on. Swork has free wifi, but access codes are only distributed with a purchase (they print it on the receipt itself). Also, because of the free wifi, the place gets crowded really easily. However, once it gets late and the place clears out a little bit, it's a pretty nice place to just lounge and type away. Pros: Free wifi, comfortable seating Cons: Crowded when busy more

Great neighborhood coffee shop 5/1/2008

Swork has great coffee and pastries. It's such a convenient little neighborhood place. I like walking to the cool stores around the area after my morning cup of coffee. more

Modern Design 3/26/2007

I really liked this place. I thought the kids' area was very creative although I don't have any kids. I haven't been to a coffeeshop that has a play area for them.I had a small vanilla bean milkshake which was really good and so was the lemon bar. I didn't look at prices but was pretty surprised when it came out to be a little over $7. I liked the atmosphere and the vibe. I went Sunday, so parking wasn't an issue but take your quarters for the meters any other day. more

Great espresso, Great atmosphere. 3/22/2007

Even though there's a starbucks with a big parking lot right across a street, I still go to Swork. I love their espresso, music, and atmosphere. Also, it's good to try their outside seats in the back sometimes. It gives me some quiet and nice coffee time! Pros: Coffee Cons: Kind of too small space. more

Their Iced Raspberry Earl Grey Tea Rocks My World! 2/27/2007

It's where I go to get my work done. The lighting's good, it's not too loud (away from the kiddies in back), and the crowd is comfortable. And have I mentioned the iced raspberry earl grey tea? Pros: Great atmosphere. Cons: Can be noisy with kids sometimes. more

While this place may be more ""urban chic"" than its progressively hipster locale, the quality coffee, ample couch space, and Wi-Fi make it a winner. I did order a pound of coffee there last week, however, and when I asked the woman to grind it for a french press (coarser grind), she handed me a bag of coffee shavings, way too thick to really extract flavor. Favorite coffee house 1/27/2004

I love Swork. It's my office-away-from-office, and the free Wi-Fi makes it that much more tempting to go even when I know I don't need another soy latte on my hips. Fun, friendly ambience, and the kids area is great -- I was leery of it at first, not wanting to be interrupted or hear parents yelling at or ignoring their kids, but every time I've been there (1 - 3 times a week), the kids are playing and the parents are paying attention and it's not a bother at all. sorry swork but your coffee is terrible and is every time. this cafe doesnt stop yaking about how great there espresso is, but when put to the test, the tastes just doent add up. when is starbucks moving in????? more

I go to Swork a lot. Far too much, probably. I can always count on great service. Try the Mexican Mayan Mocha people! It's the best. Pros: service, bagels, computers Cons: small tables, metered parking, no games or books more

swork ... works for ME 10/14/2002

when i moved in the area of eaglerock (between glendale and pasadena) i was looking for a small quaint place to read my books and sometimes a newspaper. i accidentally found swork and fell in love with the place right away. the staff are great, the childrends area is awsome (the first time i found a coffee place where they have a section for kids .... er starbucks and that other one.) and they actually have internet access for those who dont have a computer @ home. love this palce. oh did i mention the coffee and pastries are great also! Pros: good parking, great staff, homely environment more

This is an indy coffee place, and it was actually the one that got the ball rolling in Eagle Rock. It's a great place for a frozen blended, and it's a great alternative to corporate coffee!!! more
