I have been a ckient of Dr Sandford for approximately 16 years. He is very professional and compassionate. He does not take advantage of the animal owners, and only orders what is medically necessary. We will stay with Dr Sandford as long as we have pets. I would highly reccomend his services to any one. more

A Kind and Gentle Vet 6/14/2010

Dr. Sandy is the best. He's been my vet for probably close to 13 years. He's the kindest man with a heart of gold. I have complete trust in his decisions and his abilities. Dr. Sandy is like family to me...we absolutely love him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

We love Dr. Sanford. Sweetwater Vet has taken care of our dog since we rescued her three years ago. Their prices are reasonable and the staff is always very friendly. more

excellent vet clinic 9/2/2008

I have used Dr. Sandy Sanford from this clinic for the past 14 years, and have used Sweetwater for the last 5 years of that. I have always found the clinic to be clean, the staff caring, and the doctors VERY capable. I have met with the other vets as well. I also know for a fact that the office stays up to date on current trends in animal care. I am a pro dog trainer and have MANY clients who speak very highly of them. I have also referred MANY clients and always hear back. This is the only vet in the area I rarely hear anything bad about. I DO know that they are an extremely busy office, after all, they are one of the most popular vet clinics in the area. However I've never had a problem with any of them. Of course, I AM polite in my approaching them and I take into consideration their busy-ness. But I have to say I'm surprised anybody thinks they have a high death rate, I'd like to know the references on that because I have found the opposite to be true. They've caught diagnosis on s more

Never had a better vet 12/5/2007

I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with this Veterinary clinic. I'm a pet sitter so I have visited a number of vets in the SCV over the years as part of my job (routine visits, surgeries, emergencies, etc.) and Sweetwater is the only clinic that I have had constantly excellent service with - not only with my client's pets but with my own. The veterinarians and staff have always been very caring and helpful and seem to really love my pets. Also, while the clinic is spotlessly clean, it doesn't have that unappealing cleanser smell which makes the visits that much more pleasant. more

The best! I have no idea what the other two are talking about! 9/4/2007

This clinic has one of the lowest death ratings I have ever seen. I have been to may vets over the years to find the perfect one after I moved and they're it. I have also worked at vets in the past and no! it's not always how it seems! They were most likely in surgery and that's why there were no vets available to see you! Where are you getting your "death rate" info from? I knew of clinics that lost multiple pets a year and I know Sweetwater isn't even close! If you ever asked for a tour they would show you how well equipped and up-to-date they are with monitoring equipment and the latest safety for you pets. I guess I just noticed it because I was really jealous that I was never able to complete surgery with the aid of a machine that constantly read blood pressure, temp, heart rate, oxygen and had a ECG reading. With regards to no certification needed to work there-- are you talking techs??? Because you're in for a rude awakening! No clinic requires certification to work--d more

Things Are Never What They Appear 8/14/2007

I have been a devoted client to the Sweetwater Vet. Clinic for well over 2 years.The saff has always seemed to be caring , along with the doctors.The clinic is beautiful and i had never had any concerns until i referred a relative. My sister's cat was diagnosed with kidney failure and she wanted better care for him, I remembered being at the clinic and having a conversation with another client who was going through the same thing with her cat. She stated he was diagnosed and put on daily fluids, which were done 3 days a week at Sweetwater.My Sister's cat was seen and diagnosed by Dr. Mark Williams. He recommended the hills K/D diet and daily fluids. However my sister could never get her cat in for the fluids.. The no did not stop at the receptionist. My sister and I spoke with many different people including the very rude and uncaring Denise Williams. After about a week the cat would not eat or drink any thing, so my sister an Idecided to go to the clinic. When we arrived there was no more

Unhelpful front office, decent doctors 5/14/2007

We've taken two of our dogs to this office for multiple visits. They're OK for anything basic and the clinic is nice and clean. However, when we had an emergency come up, the receptionists would not let us come in without an appointment. They told us that for emergencies they recommended an animal hospital located over 45 minutes away from us. (This was said despite the fact that the information they hand out on their clinic says that emergencies are taken during normal office hours.) The end result was that our dog did not get care in time and passed away. Despite this, we were going to take our new puppy there for a routine office visit. I made an appointment for a specific day due to my work schedule. When we came in, they said we did not have an appointment because, as it turns out, they made the appointment for the wrong day. No apologies were made, nothing was done to get us in at the next available appointment. Even though the office was not busy when we came in they would not g more
