HORRIBLY UNORGANIZED AND UNPROFESSIONAL! 5/9/2011

VERY UNORGANIZED!!! We chose Ron Cowan with Sweetwater Entertainment as our wedding DJ for our ceremony and reception. We met with him a week before the wedding (we flew in from Florida) and he seemed to know his stuff. I gave him a complete 3 page list of songs that I wanted played at the reception. On that list I also clearly marked the songs I wanted played for the ceremony (processional and recessional). I also clearly marked what songs I wanted for all of the special dances (first dance, anniversary dance, bouquet toss, etc). He seemed very organized and wrote all of these special dance songs down on a separate piece of paper of his own as well. On the day of the wedding: 1. He showed up late. 2. When the officiant pronounced us man and wife, he not only forgot to start playing the recessional music, when he finally started it...it was the WRONG SONG! 3. At the reception, when we talked to him to make sure that he had all the other songs right, he had to write them all down again because he did not have the paperwork with him. He tried to tell us that he did not remember discussing those with us. 4. He still played the wrong song for the anniversary dance. 5. He announced the bouquet toss without me being ready...I had to go run and find my bouquet. 6. He played maybe 10 songs on my 3 page list. 7. Eventually one of my guests went over there and started picking songs for him. 8. Most of the time he was just standing back, talking on his phone. Now, for the 1st half of the wedding, I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt because he really was a nice guy and was very reasonably priced. In the end, though, he was completely incompetent and not prepared to DJ a wedding! I don't know what happened between our meeting a week before the event, where he seemed to have everything together, and the actual event! Either way, you get what you pay for! GO WITH SOMEONE ELSE OR BE PREPARED FOR A LOT OF UNWANTED SURPRISES DURING THE WEDDING!!!! more

A GOOD PRICE ISN'T ALWAYS A GOOD DEAL! 6/15/2010

We chose Ron with Sweetwater Entertainment to DJ/MC our wedding. His prices were good, but we soon found out why! I should have known to move on to a different DJ when I got cold called by a Mary Kay lady that Ron does referrals with. Seriously. ?? First of all, NO THANK you to giving my number out without my permission. I met with Ron two or three times prior to the wedding date to discuss the songs to be played for our events. I exchanged MANY e-mails with him and even sent him a spreadsheet of all songs to be played, when, how, etc. I EVEN SENT HIM THE ACTUAL SONGS! All he had to do was click and play. The ceremony went well, but he played our exit song once we were already down the aisle. For our grand entrance, he had a lot of feedback then said nothing. It's not even audible on the video. He then let the song play for a long amount of time until I had to look over at him and tell him to stop. I had a specific version of our first dance song I wanted played, but when we got up to dance, he played the wrong one. How sad. It meant so much to us! On top of that, HE RUINED A SPECIAL MOMENT WITH MY PARENTS. He announced that the bride had a special song for them then proceeded to play the wrong one. When I told him it was the wrong song, he stopped the music and there was DEAD AIR for about 5 minutes while he scrambled, handed my husband a bunch of paperwork, and all the guests' mouths dropped open. I had to then prompt him to at least play something. The song for them was never played. Additionally, he claims the garter toss song was not coming up so he played something else. ALL OF MY BIG EVENTS WERE RUINED!! General dancing was okay, but he played several songs twice. He then started drinking and dancing with the guests. At the end of the night, he told my new mother in law the following, "It's all good. People only remember the last song anyway." HOW UNPROFESSIONAL! I'm so embarrassed. The only good that came of our experience with Sweetwater Entertainment was the entertainment my guests and I had at Ron's expense. Every single one of my guests asked me where I found this guy and if he had ever done a wedding before. He was a nice guy though and will be refunding my money, but only in payments because he cashed the check the next day and "money is tight"...yeah, because after that disaster he won't be getting much business! Cons: Unprofessional, many mistakes, could ruin your special day! more

Poor quality entertainment! 10/1/2009

We chose Lisa with Sweetwater Entertainment for our wedding DJ and were sadly disappointed with her services. There were several mistakes on Lisa's end that affected our wedding ceremony and reception. To list a few: Lisa took it upon herself to announce and open the buffet to our wedding guests before the bridal party had gone through. She was well aware of the plan for the bridal party to open the buffet but clearly did not care. Then for our grand entrance into our reception, Lisa announced us for the first time using the wrong last name! Everyone was shocked at her mistakes and at how unprofessional she acted. I would never recommend Sweetwater Entertainment to anyone looking for a DJ for their wedding. Their prices are competitive, but you get what you pay for. Go elsewhere! Cons: Very unprofessional more
