Not the best bakery but could be 3/7/2010

I have not always had good experience with this bakery. The donuts are good most of the time but the products are not consistent and don't always seem fresh. There seems to be a high turnover which doesn't always effect the product, but it does make me wonder. I have had a cake from here and it didn't taste as good as a cake I had from Target so I didn't think the price was worth it. I have a friend who is getting married and wanted information about this bakery but I just can't reccommend this place to her in good conscience since they really don't seem to be geared for doing wedding cakes and I really question their consistency in producing a good product every time. Pros: a lot to choose from Cons: not always fresh, product not consistent more

Very best bakery in the area 2/8/2010

After moving to the area from up north, looking for a great bakery to feed our sales team each Saturday morning. They are picky (to the extreme.) Have tried several others and the staff and I agree - this is a home run. Something for everyone from coffee cakes to chilled treats. All very fresh and served with a smile. This bakery is better than the L.F. I was told is so great here in Cary. Pros: Always fresh, huge selection, friendly help Cons: coffee is an afterthought - but it's not dine-in anyway more

Buyer Beware 9/16/2009

This is the worst bakery ever. I had a Birthday cake made for my son and they wrote his name in purple and placed red dots on top...really?!? It was ugly. I wanted the ABCs around the side and they didn't even include all the letters and there letters they did include were sloppy in Red, Orange, Brown and Purple! Who would pick those colors? The cake was a total flop and I will never order from them again. I wanted a marble cake and I got yellow. Paid too much for a piece of trash! I should have gone to kroger! Pros: Not a darn thing, Negative Stars! Cons: You don't get what you order more

The best apple fritters and doughnuts 8/16/2009

We had family in town last week and I brought home a dozen HUGE doughnuts and fritters from Sweet Traditions. This was the snack of the weekend. The family in town are originally from NY and thought the fritters and doughnuts were as good if not better than what they remember from their childhood. They also could not believe how inexpensive it was for such a wonderful dozen. I can not say enough about the quality of the goodies at this bakery! Pros: best apple fritters and doughnuts more

Great Customer Service 8/14/2009

The owners went out of there way to make me smaller sub rolls like there wonder large Italian Bread. I also had to try an Eclair. .....The best I ever had! Pros: Italian Bread is the best in the city more

Awful Parking 8/1/2008

The owners need a lesson in Business 101. Parking is really tight here and they park their vans in the closest two parking spaces to the store. To beat it, their vans have big written letters on them stating ""Sweet Traditions"". \r \r Parking if tight in this locale and if I pull up can't find a close parking and see the two Sweet Traditions in customer parking spaces I keep going. Someone please enlighten this people. Pros: Good value Cons: Parking is awful more

Best donuts, danish, sweet rolls, Closed Sunday. 3/13/2007

Other than ""chain"" donut shops, it's hard to find a good donut in NC! We found this quaint little bakery tucked off Harrison Avenue in Cary to be just what we were looking for. It's in the ""Northside Station"", which also contains the ""Upper Deck Sports Pub.""\r They have a wonderful array of donuts, danish, and pastries --- not to mention their breads and rolls. You can get a donut & coffee for $1.29 or a donut & bagel for $1.49 ... or order your wedding cake! There are 3 display cases ... one for donuts, one for specialty cakes and desserts, one for danish and other wonderful treats. The breads are stacked on shelves behind the display cases. You can bring home a few treats for your family or purchase treats for a dinner party! There is plenty to choose from.\r There is also a refrigerator with cold beverages to purchase and a ""do it yourself"" coffee counter.\r Hours are a bit restrictive, so be sure to check it out ahead of time.\r As of March 2007, Mon thru Thur, 6:30 to 4, Fri 6:30-5, Sat 7-2 and CLOSED SUNDAY. Pros: Great quality, taste and variety. Cons: Location - Northside Station on Harrison, clerk not very friendly. more

Great Eclairs 8/5/2006

Sweet Traditions has perhaps the best eclair I've had in the Triangle. What most bakeries call eclairs I would call ""cream sticks"". Sweet Traditions has those too, but they also have wonderful eclairs made with light pastry and filled with boston cream.\r \r I also recommend their 99 cent loaves of Italian bread. The Challah bread is also awesome and particularly good for french toast. I've never been disappointed with anything from Sweet Traditions. Pros: Parking, location, open early Cons: Not everything is available first-thing in the morning. more
