Simply, not the place for pizza. Look around and you will certainly find a better, thin crust pizzeria.

Food was really good! I ordered vegetarian pizza and caesar salad. THe food wasn't too warm when delivered (only reason I didn't give it a 5 out of 5) more

The shrimp pizza was gone in 5 minutes. more

Great Sauce Thin Crust 11/16/2008

Sweet Tomatoes is the perfect name because the tomato sauce on their pizza truly is really sweet. They also have the perfect balance between sauce and cheese so the pizza is not overly cheesey. Big slices are a plus. The toppings are really fresh. And, the thin crust is perfect. All around this might be the best pizza in boston area. Pros: Great Sauce Cons: Stops serving slices after 4pm more

Pizza relief 10/16/2007

Being a college student living in Brighton Center, Sweet Tomatoes is the perfect relief from the ""dime-a-dozen"" take out pizza spots that populate Brighton. Instead of offering the same old pizza that you can find anywhere on washington st or cleveland circle, Sweet Tomatoes offers thin crust pizza with fresh toppings. It is nice to walk into a pizza parlor and see more than just an oven and counter with the menu listed above. Going into Sweet Tomatoes you get the feeling that they are in business for reasons other than to just turn a profit. You get the feeling that the staff here really enjoys their work and their customers. Pros: fresh pizza and toppings more

Amazing pizza 9/14/2007

I came here after shopping at a baby boutique in the Newton Highlands (amazing place by the way) and was amazed at how good the pizzas were.\r \r Not only do they have fresh ingredients, but their pizza topping combos are very creative and tasty. I've since visited a few times and every pizza I've had has consistently been amazing. For those who like the thinner crusts this is a must.\r \r My only complaints were that they had very limited seating and taking a stroller inside was a challenge. Pros: Very very good pizza Cons: Limited seating, tough to eat there with an infant more

A slice of NY in Newton 10/29/2006

No doubt, better than half the pizza's I've had in NYC and I've had a lot..great thin crust with just the right amount of sauce (love the chunks of tomoto) and cheese. If you're looking to get away from the thick, greasy, tangy ""Greek"" style pizza you find in Boston then Sweet Tomatoes is the place to go. Make sure to ask them to get the crust crispy. Reheats great too. Pros: Great pizza Cons: No seating, not the most friendly staff more

Great pizza with below average service 10/26/2006

The pizza at Sweet Tomatoes is incredible. Perfect thin crusted, brick oven pizza. The service, however, leaves much to be desired. \r \r The first time I went to Sweet Tomatoes, I ordered in person and paid, went for a walk, then came back to pick up my pizza. As I was leaving, I was accused by the staff of not paying for the pizza (aka stealing) because they did not remember that I paid only ten minutes prior (same cashier)! The second time I went, I ordered and waited inside. When my pizza was ready, a young woman at the register called my name and practically threw the pizza at me- so she could get back to talking with her friend. \r \r Overall, I would reccomend Sweet Tomatoes, beacuse the good pizza still overshadows the service. more

Great Pizza 3/18/2006

Following the trend of high rents pushing many good restaurants out of the city center, this place rocks--delicious pizza. Highly recommended. OK, fine, so it's not in the top ten on the East Coast--only Galleria Umberto in the North End can put Boston in that pantheon--but it's delicious in every way. more

Some of the best pizza in Greater Boston 2/4/2006

A little more expensive than your average pizzeria, but worth every penny. Every ingredient is extremely fresh and delicious. I've dined in on occassion but I usually take out. Pros: fresh ingredients, amazing flavors Cons: doesn't deliver, on the expensive side more

Great Pizza! 9/29/2003

Since moving to Newton we've tried many different Pizza places and Sweet Tomatoes is by far the BEST. The thin crust is perfect... I highly recommend the Hawaiian or just a plain cheese (Margarita) pizza. Both are D-licious! more

Terrible pizza 12/21/2002

I went to Sweet Tomatoes for pizza last night with some friends, and not only did they screw up our order three times in a row (yes, three times!), but the pizza came out soggy, and all of the toppings fell off whenever we tried to take a bite. The dough is flavorless, and the counter help were so rude, we left our pizza, and went elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone... Cons: flavorless crust, soggy, too small more

Not so sweet... 11/17/2002

Just had Sweet Tomatoes last night or the first time, and was very unimpressed. The pizza literally fell apart as I was trying to take a slice out of the box, as the dough was mushy and soggy. The staff seemed confused when I arrived, as they had seemingly forgotten to make my order. I am not sure if anyone else has had similar experiences, but I know that I will never go back there again. I certainly feel as though I wasted my money... Pros: Nice town (Newton) Cons: soggy crust, rude service, takes too long more

white clam pie... oh my 8/26/2002

ST's offers more than just an extraordinary traditional thin crust pie - their specials truly are something else. The White Clam pie, which pulls of New Haven CT fame, is a masterpiece. I have eaten this pizza on their sidewalk table and every passerby either looked longingly, or had to ask what it was I was eating. Delicious! By far the best pizza in the Boston area. more

Out of This World 8/26/2002

Sweet Tomatoes has the absolute best Pizza in Boston. It's a shame that there isn't a larger seating area so that everyone can enjoy their pizza perfection. The make the absolute best thin crust pizza that I've ever tasted in my life. It's worth driving outside the city for me or hopping on the Green Line to Newton Centre. My only small complaint about the service is that they don't let you pay up front. It's often difficult to pay once you're finished since it's often busy. Pros: Splendid, Delicious, Perfection Cons: Bad Service, Too Small more

Thumbs down 8/21/2002

Simply, not the place for pizza. Look around and you will certainly find a better, thin crust pizzeria. more

Not so sweet.... 8/21/2002

I am disappointed to say that after a long drive back into Boston, I stopped by Sweet Tomatoes, and had a piece of pizza that was soggy, fell apart, and was simply not good. The counter help had no idea what was going on when I asked to speak to a manager, and quite honestly, I will never go back. I mean why do you go to a specialty pizza store? For good pizza..... this was certainly not that... Cons: pizza was bad, lack of good help, no seating more

Fresh, thin, juicy 8/2/2002

I love big slices of thin crust pizza with fresh ingredients. That is Sweet Tomatoes. Pros: thin crust, fresh ingredients, Margarita Cons: staff uninterested, no promotions more
