i got my first tattoo from D in 2004. i always swore they weren't for me until i went with my husband to get his back piece done. i knew that if i was goin to trust anyone to put something permanent on my body it would be done by D. he does amazing work! the colors are so bright and i never have to worry about fading or jacked up lines. i would not let any one of my friends or family go anywhere other than to Sweet Baby Octane for their work. your body is a temple and only the best artists should have reign over what goes on it. The work I have done by D.Willy is the most complimented out of all of my work. The designs are very cool but it's D's clean lines and distinct coloring that also attract a lot of attention. The tattoos D has done for me are over 4 years old but they are just as bold as the day I got them. This guy knows what he's doing. You can be sure to have a great experience at Sweet Baby Octane-- D and J. Michael are both really nice guys and they keep a clean shop. Check 'em out! D at Sweet Baby Octane is one of the best tattoo artists in town. His work is amazing, I constantly have people flocking around admiring his work on me, including other great local artists. The line work is impeccable and the color is unimaginably bright and vivid. He's great at working with you on designing exactly what you want. He has a prodigious talent and is second to none. I have had the great pleasure of D Willy and J Michael work on several pieces on me. From major pieces to a current sleeve they are true masters. They are the only artists I have referred to my friends and family for work. I like that all of their work is custom and they take the time to work out all the details to make each piece a work. I could rant all night about how great this shop is, but I will keep it short. Not only are the artist top notch but the atmosphere is an experience in itself. The shop is Surgically clean and the artist are very respectful of their clients wishes. The waiting room I would call a rockabilly tiki culture art gallery, there are comfortable chairs but I doubt you will sit long due to all the cool art to peruse. The tattoo experience is different here due to the fact that both the artist have broad vocabularys and their intellegence makes for interesting conversation, with a dash of sass, topics broached can range from zombie flicks, to subprime mortgages. Showed up for some tattoo work, but I left with much more. These guys go out of there way to make their customers feel welcome and relaxed. The artwork is unmatched and the friendly environment almost makes you forget that you're being poked with small needles. I will DEFINITELY be going back. more

Sweet Baby Octane is an amazing shop, ran by an amazing team of artists. Both, D. Willy and J. Michael Taylor are artists comparable to none. The line work and color done by D. Willy is the best that I have seen. His pieces are flawless, his art is original, and his level of expertise is immeasurable. D. has done large pieces on my back, arms, shoulders, neck. He goes above and beyond to make you comfortable during your time in the shop. Bring your words, your style, your images, art, photos, whatever.., and the guys at Sweet Baby Octane can transform your ideas into the perfect tattoo for you. These guys can pull an image out of your imagination, and draw it 10 times better on a piece of paper! I started going to Sweet Baby Octane over a year ago, and I am so glad I found them. They have a very sterile enviroment but at the same time it doesnt remind you of a doctors office, with it's bright colors and unique artwork you constantly have something to look at. I have experienced getting tattooed by both Dee Willy and J. Michael Taylor and everytime it's been more than amazing. i almost feel like I'm with family when I'm with them...although we can joke around we can also speak professional...(well they can at least)Go see these guys. I work at a resturaunt and i get asked everyday ""Oh I love your tattoos where do you get them?"" and I would never recomend anyone else. I sent my aunt there, most of my friends, and of course a bunch of random strangers. Also I know not only are these guys good with anything I've seen some unbelieveable cover up work come out of this shop. So far I've gotten 3 big tattoos from Sweet Baby Octane and all of them have been amazing. Great work is done with both color and black and white tattoos. They have a friendly staff with very skilled artists. I would highly recommend for all of your tattoo needs. I know I'm coming back for more. I had the pleasure of having work done by D Willy when Sweet Baby Octane first opened in Pittsburgh, Pa. I was soooo sad when he sold the shop and moved to Columbus. But since that time i have made the 3 hour drive to see D and meet J. Michael to continue to have awesome work done. If you are looking for a clean, professional shop, who has award winning artists, with sick a** custom work, and ink colors so bright, then this is your place. Not only is all this 110% true, they have 2 of the best artist these eyes have ever seen. D. Willy and J. If you ask me Sweet Baby Octane is the only shop in Columbus worth your time and your money, not because of bad artists in Columbus, we have some of the best in the world here people, but because of the quality and the comradere you get when you experience this shop. I started my experience with D Willy (owner and artist) years ago by admiring his work done on a friend of mine. D was still working in Athens Ohio at the time. I already had a good deal of tattoo work done, using artists from my local area (Chillicothe) This same friend gave me a gift certificate for D.'s new location, Sweet Baby Octane, in Columbus a few years ago. I shot D an e-mail with a very rough idea of what I'd like to get, and he promptly sent me a very good sketch that was exactly what I had in mind. The tattoo experience was a great one, very friendly, relaxed environment. The studio is very well organized, very clean, and private from the office and waiting area. I have now had 3 large custom pieces done and they all continue to be of killer quality and design. In my opinion, the excellent artistic skills of both D and J , on and off the skin are what sets them apart from the half dozen or so other artists and shops that I've worked with, and mind you, the other shops were no hatchet jobs. \r D and J will consult with you and work out exactly what you want applied, simple or elaborate, big or small\r Sweet Baby Octane is defnitely the premier shop in the Columbus area, I've become an evangelist for them, and more than a dozen of my friends are now faithful customers! I highly recommend Sweet Baby Octane for your next tattoo. You will not find better artist or tattooist in Columbus. The first tattoo I got at Sweet Baby Octane was almost 13 years ago.....and It still looks as though I just had it done. I have since had D Willy (Sweet Baby Octane) tattoo a complete sleeve on my lower leg, a sleeve in progress on my left arm, a back piece. After seeing my tattoos virtually all of my freinds and even some of my family including my wife have all since been tattooed by Sweet Baby Octane. You will not brighter colors anywhere. And the most important thing is that the colors last. That is one of the biggest compliments I get on my tattoos is how bright they are. And then people say ""did you just get that done?"" When I moved back to Ohio a few years ago, I was looking for a good tattoo shop to work on some of my ideas as well as get my wife some new work. Everyone I spoke with told me to visit Sweet Baby Octane. I must admit, I was hesitant because every other shop I have visited in Ohio have not been up to my wife and I's standards, and the last thing I wanted to do is buy my wife a certificate for her birthday from a place where she wouldn't be proud to have a tattoo. I didn't want a generic place littered with flash, tattooing is an art form.\r \r I went in and met with the guys at Sweet Baby Octane and it was nothing like I expected! It was a great shop ran by people who are not only great artist, but great business owners as well. Someone I can feel comfortable with as a person and an artist. It's very rare you run into a shop where you can fully trust the artists on all levels. \r \r Sweet Baby Octane is the kind of place where you can develop a long standing relationship and fully trust that all of your future tattoos will be amazing.\r \r I would recommend every person I know to find a good shop to develop a relationship with their artist, and anyone within the Ohio area, I recommend Sweet Baby Octane! Sweet Baby Octane! If your looking in the Columbus area to get some killer Ink done check out D. Willy and J. Michael Taylor of Sweet Baby Octane... sorry you wont find any ""Flash"" books to choose a Tattoo from in this shop, all Original Hand Drawn artwork here!! I was at work one day and this dude came to the counter to purchase new gloves, helmet etc etc.. and I noticed his amazing artwork. I mean this sleeve was the coolest and brightest design I had ever seen! I told the dude ""Hey your sleeve is pretty siick, you just get that done?"" to my amazement he responded "" NO, this sleeve is about three or four years old!"" I was in shock, never had I seen such amazing work keep its color for soo long. He then told me about D. Willy and Sweet Baby Octane. I was there 3 weeks later getting my chest done, and have been back who knows how many times. Looking for great artwork and a personable experience check out my buddies at Sweet Baby Octane!
