Soup Naz! - my sentiments exactly!! 3/3/2007

The first time I ate at Swagat, I was with my two toddlers and we received very inattentive service and I swore I wouldnt go back with the kids - not a kid friendly atmosphere! However, the food was great so i took my sister there last night. It was saturday night and the two of us talked for a long time after dinner and Chai. Again, the service was bad but I forgave it until the manager came up to us and ASKED US TO LEAVE because he felt that we had been there too long. Pros: Good food Cons: Offensive service more

Amazing Indian food, great lunch buffet 10/14/2006

The people who own Swagat relocated from Boston, MA, a hotspot for great indian cuisine, a number of years ago. The food is rich and authentic tasting with just the right portion served for the dinner entrees. Appetizers are spicy but tasty. We have eaten at the lunch buffet a number of times and it is always fresh and delicious. There is a good variety, but they keep some favorite staples. My favorites here are the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Butter Chicken. Also make sure to try the masala/chai tea...they have it free on the buffet and it's delicious, but try it before you add suger because it's pre-sweetened. Pros: Amazing food, top-notch service more

Awesome lunch buffet 7/20/2006

My fiance and I visit Swagat about once a month (and have been for the last three years). If you're new to Indian food, try their weekend buffet. Al a carte is great as well since you can choose your level of spiciness. We've tried several other Indian restaurants, but Swagat is our favorite. Their naan, tandoori chicken, and chicken tikka masala cannot be beat! Don't forget to try the chai. more

Soup Nazis 3/12/2006

The service in this restaurant was SO painfully bad that we had to laugh. It distinctly reminded me of the Soup Nazi episode of Seinfeld. The waiter was so quick to have us place our order he barely let the first order finish before rushing on the next person. When we pointed this out he said ""ok hurry just keep talking"". It was so hasty and rude that i thought it should have been an act. When bringing out the order of the table next to us he placed their food tray on our table to serve them, and then placed all their used dishes on our table to clear theirs. The only quality of this restaurant that saved it was the food was absolutly amazing. If i return here it will be TAKE OUT ONLY. Pros: food Cons: service, location more

Amazing! 7/19/2003

Swagat needs you. They make some of the most authentic and tasty Indian food I've ever had, but I never see more than 1 or 2 other parties at a time. The tandori is indian barbeque and will make even picky eaters happy. My dining partner hates curry and even she was impressed with the chicken dishes. There is a section of the menu devoted to breads, which should be ordered with what ever main dish you choose. They are all excellent, but the garlic and the cheese breads are the best.
