The food here is awesome! I had spicy tuna rolls, and they were the best I've ever had. My sister had california rolls, and those were good too. My brother had cooked crab rolls, ...

Sitting at the sushi bar is the better choice. Tables for two are set up in tight rows which sits you right next to other diners. While you struggle to hear your date, you can h...

Good sushi, great atmosphere 10/29/2005

I'll have to admit, the big draw here is the great atmosphere and stunning decor. It's almost too cool to be a sushi restaurant. The sushi is good, nothing that will blow you away, but staff is knowledgable and friendly. Drinks are exellent if predictably pricey. more

Decent sushi in hip atmosphere 10/7/2005

I'll admit, the pull of Sushi Samba is probably more its clubby feel, which differs greatly from any other sushi joint with the exception of perhaps Hello Sushi. The sushi is fresh though not terribly different from what you might find elsewhere in the city, the staff is friendly and helpful, and they make fabulous drinks. This place may be more of a treat for its atmosphere, and secondly for its food, but I would return regardless. more

Nothing special. 9/6/2005

Sushi Samba Rio has average sushi at above average prices. I think you're paying for the "trendy" atmosphere. The decor is pretty cool, but the tables are way too close together on the upper level. There are better places for sushi in Chicago. But, if you visit New York, the original Sushi Samba is really good! more

Fun atmosphere, sushi is expensive 8/23/2005

I went to Sushi Samba Rio with a group of 15 people. The atmosphere of the bar and restaurant was fun. We had a reservation for our group, but we still ended up waiting for almost a half hour to be seated (even though we were all there). The sushi was good, but some pieces were pretty expensive. They also have some interesting dishes for those that don't like sushi. Overall, it was a good experience, but I don't have anything to rave about. more
