Waitress was wearing her gym clothes. She checked in WAY too much before ordering and not enough after. Teriyaki Chicken should be called Bell Pepper Chicken, it was disgusting. Best part of the meal was the salad and white rice. Husband liked his sushi and the hot Asian waitress whose lacy tights were peaking out of her dress. more

SOTR sucks donkey balls 4/11/2012

worst fn Groupon I ever bought. what was i thinking? i knew the service sucked. ugh. i will never go back. I literally left the TERRIBLE server/bartender a 1? tip just to prove my point and would have left a haypenny if they were still valid currency. I probably will never go back. Worst part of the night was when I tried to walk out and leave my bill (in lieu of begging him to stop mixing drinks in my face while I?m standing there with my credit card and coat on and take my money, pretty please with sugar on top), my hubby didn?t follow me out the door. Party foul, dude, party foul. don't go there. save yourselves!!!! lol more

Rude, Rude, Rude. 2/18/2010

I can't tell you how very disappointed we were with Sushi on the Rocks. After making reservations three weeks in advance, explaining to them that we had a gift certificate that we intended to use on Valentine's Day, they refused to take the certificate once we got our bill. There was nothing in the certificate's fine print that said they would not be able to accept on this particular day. After asking our waitress to speak with the manager, who never showed up, we were told by another waiter that ""the owner just does crazy things sometimes... oh and by the way, we're not going to take your gift certificate."" So we had to pay for our meal, in full. Now we are stuck with a gift certificate to a restaurant which served average sushi, has rude staff, and a non-existent manager/owner who decides arbitrarily when they will or will not take gift certificates (which we paid for) based on their ""crazy moods"". I've never been to a restaurant that cares so little about their customer's happiness. Rude, rude, rude. Pros: decent sushi Cons: ""crazy owner"" and non existant manager more

Fantastic SOTR 11/1/2009

The food is just awesome, better than any other sushi I have tried. They have great deals and great service. Pros: Playboy, snow mountain, and crazy roll. Cons: Wanting to come back again, again, and again! more

Too Much Good Sushi in Indy to Waste Time Here, Poor Mgmnt 10/14/2009

I went to this restaurant about eight times this summer and fall, always inviting 2 -8 guests. the sushi was pretty standard w/ painfully slow food preparation time but also friendly waitstaff. i recently attended this happy hour, which is advertised in a major indianapolis paper and the marquee in front of their establishment advertising half price martinis and half price sushi from 4:30 - 6:30. I was charged full price for everything, despite staff/owner acknowledging I ordered during Happy Hour. The owner insulted our entire table, presented ridiculous excuses, failed to honor their advertisement despite my consistent business and bringing yet another new guest. i will never attend this establishment again, too much good sushi in town to waste your time here. Pros: atmosphere Cons: misleading specials, disrespectful staff more

Chef John ROCKS at Sushi on the Rocks! 1/4/2009

I recently learned to enjoy sushi and of all the places I've gone, Sushi on the Rocks has the BEST sushi rolls! My favorites: SOTR signature roll, Hana roll, Snow Mountain roll and the Playboy roll which comes to your table in foil and aflame! Phenominal flavor! I have introduced many of my non-sushi eating friends to SOTR and they are big fans now! A cozy atmosphere & reasonably priced too!!!! more
