Awesome Sushi 8/1/2011

It is great and love the new location. It has a great atmosphere and the family that owns it are really nice. My favorite dish there is the ahi tuna tower. I get it everytime. But I also do love the quality of the sushi there. Can't wait until I go back!!!!! more

Exellent food and service!!! Thier most popular dish is the Ahi towel and it is so goood...the sushi chef said that he has been working as a sushi chef for more than 33 years!! They said that they are starting the daily specials...looking forward to it :) more

Best one I've been to! 4/2/2009

The service was excellent as was the food and the presentation. And my wife, who usually will not try anything out of the ordinary, raved about every item. This is a definite place to go if you want quality sushi and friendly waiters. Pros: Just about everything we tasted was excellent. Cons: I wish the menus explained more in detail. more

$1 Sushi Specials-WOW 3/6/2009

I'm a big Sushi fan, and expect when a restaurant is touting a 'special' it's not the top of the line product, but, one they want to move-not so at The Sushi Bar - their $1 Sushi Special features a wide variety -and it's among the freshest sushi I've had since moving to the DFW area. This place is definitely worth the trip-the staff is very very friendly, and the owner and the chef tend to remember me when I come in. You don't get that too much anymore. This is a great place for a business lunch-quick service and very affordable. Pros: Great service, Great Sushi! more

This is by far my favorite in Dallas 12/16/2008

I have been to the sushi bar a few times and each time it has been excellent. I recently went for lunch with my husband and had the avocado and spicy tuna rolls. The owner was there and remembered us which was amazing becasue he had not seen us since they opened. I only wish my husband was a sushi lover so I could have tried more items on the menu and that I had more disposable income to go at least once a week. This is my favorite in Dallas and I have been to many. Pros: Really good food Cons: Wish they were located downtown more

A bad taste in my mouth 6/16/2008

I would not recommend The Sushi Bar to others. I have tried many sushi restaurants in the Dallas area and my experience was below par. I went during lunch (I work nearby) and was disappointed that there were few choices for their $1 sushi specials. My server was very slow on drink refills, greeting, and overall service, despite it being an early, not-so-crowded lunch. The sushi was okay (not as fresh as I had imagined). I can only hope that this was an isolated incident, however, I have already had a bad experience there... not so encouraged to revisit. more

I had dinner at The Sushi Bar and must say it was a outstanding. The service was superb and the food was delicious. The owner was extremely friendly and let us have some wine and some sushi rolls on the house. This was my second sushi experience in Dallas. The first left much to be desired (like more food for the price and a couple more bills in my wallet). I went off of this previous experience when ordering at The Sushi Bar. However, to my suprise my girlfriend and I ended up having to cancel two orders of sushi rolls and sashimi before being prepared because we were already stuffed!! We actually ended up taking some back home with us because we couldnt finish it all. I must add that the prices are going to be hard to beat. I compared my experience at The Sushi Bar to my many sushi experieces while over seas and it matched up quite well (price wise and quality). I guarantee you won't leave The Sushi Bar with an empty stomach or nothing but lint in your pockets. Pros: great service, delicious sushi, great prices Cons: none what so ever! more

Made me a sushi lover! 4/19/2008

Went to the Sushi Bar for dinner with some friends and loved it! The atmosphere is very relaxing; perfect for dinner with friends or a romantic night out. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. Before, going to the Sushi Bar I was a little hesitant because I never liked sushi; I had tried sushi once before and hated it. The Sushi Bar made me a sushi lover! The food was delicious. I tried an array of sushi. My favorites were the ebi ebi, philadelphia, vegetable, spicy tuna, and the sushi bar special. Def. will go back to the Sushi Bar; there are so many different types of sushi I want to try. Glad I didn't give up on sushi based on one bad experience otherwise I wouldn't have ever given this great sushi restaurant a chance. \r \r P.S. The Sushi Bar also has a great desert menu. Try the fried vanilla icecream. The food presentation is beautiful; almost didn't want to mess up the masterpiece but glad I did it was delicious; every bite! more

Fabulous, simply fabulous~ 4/8/2008

This is a fabulous sushi restaurant in uptown Dallas. Excellent all the way around. Impeccable service, creative sushi menu, awesome tasting, not to mention the presentation. They also have variety of cocktail menus. We ordered several combinations of sushi and rolls, but it only took about 10 minutes or so for them to prepare our order. Even if you are full with all the great foods, you will have a room for ice cream desert - nothing big, but enough to satisfy the sweet tooth. Sushi was so fresh it was probably caught that day, rolls large, fresh, and generously and well packed. Totally excellent all the way around - they checked on us numerous times, greentea always refilled promptly, very polite waiters. Did I mention the excellent service? Take pictures of the sushi, their presentation is a piece of art~! more

I must say that it is now my favorite sushi restaurant!\r The food was amazing, and my fav was the Sushi Bar Special Roll. Ahi tower was yummy.\r People were great. The owners greeted us as we walked in. Phenomenal service!\r Dessert was awesome as well. Tempura ice cream was just heavenly, the best I've ever had! more

I finally found my favorite Japanese restaurant 3/22/2008

I'm so glad I found The Sushi Bar. The waiter recommended a few specials that I absolutely loved like the Ahi Tower and Volcano Roll. And If you like uni (sea urchin) you have to try their Uni Shooter - never had anything like it until now! The fish is really fresh, the flavors are great, the sauces are chef's original concoctions (the waiter told me!), and the presentation of every dish is so beautiful! What I've learned about The Sushi Bar is that you don't have to go to some ultra upscale and expensive restaurant to get the best quality sushi and a great dining experience. TSB is full of surprises - I know I'll definitely be going again.\r \r \r more
