I go to this market once every two 5/3/2012

I go to this market once every two weeks. The value is unbeatable. You can get cucumbers 5 for $1. At my regular store they are .69 each. You can get artichokes 2 for $1. At my regular store they are 2 for $4. The savings change depending on what is in season. It is a small store and it is best to go early in the morning before the crowd shows up and it is well worth it. You do have to pay attention to how ripe things are when you buy them, avacados for instance. But you would do that anyway, wouldn't you? You can spend $60 on produce at your regular store or you can spend $25 on the same produce here. Very happy we have this market to shop at!!! more

Great way to stretch the budget and eat healthy 10/28/2009

As many folks are doing these days, I have had to slash my food budget. So how to eat cheap and healthy at the same time? Find a great place to buy fresh produce! Superstition Ranch Market is a funky little store that offers a great selection of produce at unbelievable prices. A friend recommended that place and the first time I visited, I was amazed at the prices. Sure you have to pick through the bins a little bit to get the best stuff, but that is part of the fun of a farmer's market. I have four boys who eat like horses and they are thrilled that the fruit basket is alwys full. We have also been experimenting with new vegetables like spaghetti squash and jicama. It sure beats Hot Pockets! Pros: Can't beat the prices Cons: Be selective more

Not bad for the price. 9/21/2009

I do agree with it getting spoiled. Seems that they need to go in the fridge right away and does not stay fresh like the other produce from the grocery store. Pros: Cheap produce... Cons: You do get what you pay for... more

I love, love, love this place! 8/8/2009

My niece turned me on this place. The prices are incredible. Where else can you get 3 pounds of strawberries for $1 when they are in season? I have made a lifestyle change (not a diet) but I miss the crunch of potato chips with my sandwiches so I substitute crunchy veggies such as red, yellow and green bell peppers, celery, radishes and cucumbers. You cannot beat their prices for these and fresh lettuce, squash and cabbages. Oh, and the large VINE RIPENED tomatoes for tomato sandwiches? To die for! All in all, it is SO worth the drive from East Phoenix to Mesa. (P.S. I also get cheaper gas prices just down the street at Main and LIndsay.) It's a WIN-WIN for me! Pros: Best prices and freshest produce around Cons: Sometimes really crowded more

Awesome! 5/25/2009

I love this market. The prices here are fantastic and the selection is great. I used to spend upwards of $60+ at Fry's every week on produce. Now the bill is around $25 and I get way more! If you are shopping during the months when the snowbirds are here, be sure to go super early. If you get there after 11 am get ready for a cozy experience and long lines. The store is on the small side so it can fill up quickly. All in all, highly recommended! Pros: Lowest produce prices by a mile. Cons: Tough to shop when snowbirds are in town. more

Don't stand behind their produce 4/9/2009

I recently bought several pounds of strawberries to make jam. Less than two days later, they were so moldy that none of them were salvagable. When I called to see if I could take them back, whoever answered the phone grilled me about how I had stored them, when I bought them, whined about not hearing of any other problems and then very reluctantly agreed to exchange the fruit. He even accusatorily asked me if I had left them in the car or garage or out in the heat. He would not refund my money. He then lectured me on how to store the fruit so it wouldn't go bad. I used to frequent this market pretty often, even though I have had produce spoil quickly because of the price. But I've wasted too much money here. Purchase produce at your own risk. Pros: Cheap produce Cons: Produce spoils quickly more
