this was a good stay. The staff was very accomodating. The room was clean and well furnished. We stayed one night on a business trip and didn't have any complaints at all.

The Super 8 near downtown is a good, cheap option for the area. Guy was nice when I checked in, Room was clean. It isn't a luxury hotel, but the price is right and it has more than enough amenities to make for a comfortable stay. I'd stay again. Did I mention this is convenient to downtown without the downtown price? Its practically on the I-55 ramps, so you can get anywhere quickly. more

The perfect stay over hotel. sheets were clean and shower was hot. Fridge was great for refreshing our ice packs and chilling food for the road. Built in hair dryer, coffee pot, minimal free breakfast, microwave. For 45.00, you can't ask for much more. We arrived very late and they were still helpful. Area is a bit removed from downtown but they had a shuttle for like 8.00, it's an older industrial side of town, but did not feel unsafe. Don't fool yourself, this is not a vacation motel, but great for a quick stay. more

Contrary to what these reviews would lead one to believe, this Super 8 is an excellent accommodation for the price. The dining area is quite nice, the staff is extremely kind/helpful, and marble elevators will greet you as you ascend to your room. It is also in an excellent location-- just a few minutes from Beale Street. The hotel will even provide a shuttle to and from downtown so you don't have to spend money on a cab. Don't listen to the negativity. more

I have never written a review before but because of all the negative reviews I HAD to write about our stay 10/10.Myself, my two sons and a friend stayed for 9 nights at the motel. After looking at the reviews was slightly concerned as this was our first time in America and wasn't quite sure what motels really were offering or how they ran. Well I must say that I was so glad that we stayed here and definitely would again. First of all the location, the so called 'creepy', run down building was once a hospital for soldiers, not creepy but actually quite a lovely piece or architecture, the motel was located within a park and a grassy area a few steps away from the Mississippi, fabulous for photos. We found a route to walk along the river that took us right to Beale Street. The rooms, yes a bit dated. but were clean and fitted our purpose for a good nights sleep after being out and about all day, the beds were so comfortable and clean. The breakfast was the same each day but we were on holiday and was off out most mornings so quick coffee and a waffle, self made, was suffice. Got to chat to several people passing through and was fascinating to hear different stories about each and everyone. Last but no means least a big THANKYOU to Mike and his wonderful wife and colleagues. As we didnt have a car they shuttled us around not only to Beale Street but to the zoo, to a restaurant miles away so my son could watch a live wrestling,on tv and many other places at a very small charge and picked us up. He is such a great guy and was so helpful. Thanks Mike sorry we never got to eat a curry l. Yes its basic, but if you want to go to a clean, friendly, budget motel, with a good location go there please and say Hi to Mike from us. more

Took the megabus from Atlanta ($5.00) for a long weekend trip to Memphis. Location was a long walk from bus station, but nice to walk after sitting on a bus for 7 hours. Staff let us check in early. Basic accomodations with breakfast included. You can't beat the price-$38.00 a night. more

We attended the Music Fest in the park by the Mississippi River, and the hotel was situated quite near the park. This was very convenient for us, as the taxi bills were not very expensive. The staff were very nice, and they had a shuttle service at a reasonable price. (The husband demanded more money when he drove us downtown, but we knew the price from an earlier trip, so he had to accept the right price when we protested..)\r The laundry service was also ok, as we had been travelling for a while and needed to wash some clothes. more

Good view of the abandoned military hospital (especially at night, with the chirp of insects) and far enough from the road for there to be no real noise\r Good night sleep and close to interstate for quick getaway the next morning. more

Stayed here with my family in 2013 and I must say that we had a wonderful experience staying at the motel for 10 days, yes 10 days. So I feel that I can give a general overview of the motel as we were just not there overnight. Yes it is dated, no it not luxurious but as a family on a budget it suited our needs perfectly. Mike the manager and the rest of the staff treated us like family and were very kind in ferrying us around for a small charge at the drop of a hat. As a wrestling fan I wanted to see a live pay per view while in America, Mike went out of his way to take my family and I at least 20 miles away so that we could watch it in a sports bar and then picked us up later on. Breakfast was basic but sufficient and our rooms clean and very comfy beds, all in all we had a fabulous time in Memphis and the motel suited our needs, we even found our own route by the river to walk to Beale Street from the motel, which was located opposite the marvelous Mississippi, and had no problems whatsoever. Thanks Mike we had a great time and would come back and stay at your place without hesitation. more

Stayed here for two nights in January 2014 and paid $40 a night and had a great experience. The hotel staff was really friendly and eager to help. My boyfriend and I were only in town to see Graceland and had some extra time to spend and the staff was great with giving us tips on things to do, they even had a shuttle to Beale St, which was great. Our room was clean and it smelled good, the beds were comfy and the shower worked really well, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, we had a great experience and I would definitely recommend this hotel. more

We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks - a long stay in the Memphis area. The hotel was fine. It was clean, comfortable and the owner and staff were friendly. We booked this hotel for price and then checked the reviews - we were worried after reading the majority of reviews but the hotel was fine. You need a very short taxi ride into Beale and downtown but the hotel offer a cheap transfer service. We found them expensive for a ride further afield but helpful with advice on the area. Rooms are old and in some need of redecoration but ok for basic accommodation needs. We would stay there again if in this area in the future. more

We were very pleased with the Super 8 downtown in Memphis. It was excellent. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. It was very easy to find, right off I-55. They were very accomodating in putting us in a ground floor room, which we requested. The building itself was nice, it seemed a little old but it had good character. It is next to a lovely park that is right on the Mississippi River. Beautiful. The continental breakfast was very nice, the breakfast area was clean and kept well stocked. I would highly recommend this motel to anyone traveling through the Memphis, TN area. more
