I was interested in an old quilt which a worker confided was over-priced for its condition. She told me they can't lower prices only the manager can and of course she wasn't in. Another day I bought some drinking glasses - the women checking me out kept shaking their heads and saying they thought the glasses were underpriced. Later that day I went back to buy a few more and found the price on the glasses had been raised! On another occasion they had a set of silverware for well over a year - I made them a fair offer but they rejected it. more

This is a non-profit trying to serve the Community...Volunteers are not Neiman Marcus trained..As a Volunteer you go and do what you agree to do ...Serve and walk out if you aren't happy..But don't ask others to not serve... more

Not good to their volunteers 1/16/2012

I volunteered there for 2 hours on my feet this morning pricing items. We were allowed to shop after that. I found a jacket for my husband. I was in line behind another volunteer who was checked out. When I got to the head of the line a woman behind the counter told me the line was on the other side and to get behind it. There are two registers there and there is no reason to have only one line. Also, I should have been checked out where I was because I had volunteered there for two hours. Their merchandise is mostly garage sale stuff that people don't want any more. Not worth the time. Go somewhere else to volunteer or shop. more

Great book selection 10/3/2011

I do not know anything about the clothes they offer but they have an excellent selection of books. Better than most stores I've been in -- even the larger ones. This is from someone who has been a librarian and bookseller for a number of years. I've also found them to be friendly. more

Great deals and wonderful cause! 7/23/2011

I think that the ""Sunshine Retail"" (appropriately named) is a great second hand shop! I especially appreciate its mission, namely to raise money to help the poor of Houston. I discovered this by chance while chatting with one of the volunteers. They are part of CCSC (Christian Community Service Center). At any rate, I found everyone quite friendly and helpful. I also found some terrific deals, although I admit, I did have to wade through a lot of racks. You won't find much in high end designer clothes, but you will find nice mid range labels for sure. more

thrift shop 4/1/2009

THE SHOP IS CUTE, THE CLOTHING OUTDATED. I WANTED TO FIND CLOTHING FOR MY CHILDREN, I WAS DISAPPOINTED, BUT AN EMPLOYEE TOLD ME ABOUT CHILDREN'S COLLECTIONS NEAR BY ON BELLAIRE BLVD. I WAS THANKFUL. VERY NICE SHOP WELL ORGANIZED AND VERY FRIENDLY STAFF. FOR THAT I AM GRATEFUL, BECAUSE I FOUND THE BEST CHILDREN'S RESALE SHOP I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. Pros: none to say Cons: none to say more

not worth trying 10/31/2008

Not so many interesting items to choose from, most are very old and no nice brands. The boutique section is ridiculously overpriced. Especially when they are donated and most of the staff are volunteers. With such prices customers can always go to much nicer high end resale shops, not this donation store.\r \r They tend to put any brands that somewhat popular here regardless of quality and style of the items. or anything that looks accetable are considered boutiques by cashiers even no tag attached and will be retagged before being sold. \r \r The rest are just a waste of time. The manager is noisy and rude. Avoid the fitting room. Things are crazy there. Pros: parkings, location Cons: mean manager, overprice more

Not Much to Choose From 6/9/2006

There not much to choose from and the relatively few better items they have are pretty pricey for a resale shop. This one new dress I spotted still had the tags on it and the store was selling it at 25% off the original retail price! You can probably find better deals and cheaper prices during department store sales than at this place. Pros: Good parking Cons: No deals or bargains more
