I feel so bad for all the folks that visited Sunshine Rentals of Key West prior to December of 2011. That company has been sold and the New Owners have changed the name to SunShine Scooters, Inc. Please visit our Website. My husband and I bought the company 2 months ago and we're working very hard to change the reputation of the previous owners. What a nightmare! With an owner like this, this place should not be doing business. We rented worthless pieces of JUNK. When we signed up for scooters we had to go thru three of them because of No brakes, Flat tires, Actually had to walk one of the scooters back...You are putting your life in danger renting one of these scooters. The Owner is one of the biggest Ass---- anyone could meet. You can pull up different websites with reviews and they are all bad. We got to ride a total of 2.6 miles and then stranded...No after hour number to call. We had to call the local police dept. We returned the keys and scooters and When we returned home from Key West, we had extra charges on our credit card. We are disputing these charges, but after reading others it seems that this is how he does business. There are alot of scooter rentals in Key West, so many people were riding all over on NICE scooters from different business. What a JERK, even the employees go thru HELL with this guys. He degrades his employees in front of customers...Absolutely Horrible more

I've travelled a lot place within the nation, and across the sea, never had such HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Even the employees there said boss's an As$ho( The big, Bald guy). BECAREFUL!!!!! He traps people to sign contract with him, when I ask him to give me a receipt, he just hand wrote it on a flyer. When i insisted to have a formal receipt, he said: I CAN WRITE ON ANYTHING, EVEN ON A NAPKIN!(This is really demeaning) I realized something wrong there and decided stop this transaction. He threatened us he already swipped my fiends' and my credit cards, and he'll called police. We waited the police, and told everything, then of course we were let go. When we returned home, and checked our credit activity online, guess what?THERE WAS $2K-$4K to be charded APPEARED ON EACH OF OUR CREDIT ACTIVITIES. (luckily, we didn't sign, and it didn't take effect) I don't understanding some trush like him can hold a business on that Island till now! He must got some connection there. RUDE, CRUDE, AND ILL-BRED!! This company is toxic. The people responsible are just plain Greedy. I have never been more rudely treated by any business in my life. Don't bend over if you drop your wallet at this joint, just kick it to the door and run. Yellow'Red is the perfect color to represent this business. This company is like an open sore leaching and festering with disiese. In and of itself it has highhandedly begun to degrade beautiful Key West. Came with a large party (15-20 people) and needed both bikes and an electric car for the weekend. We worked everything out over the phone and signed the contract later on. We realized later that they actually changed the terms of the agreement to include a longer rental term and higher charge than that which we had agreed. We called back, and the manager refused to speak to us. We were directed to a new girl who hadn't even been involved with the original deal and literally must have been hired that day. After we finally got them to agree to honor the original agreement we thought everything was fine. Wrong. Two days later after returning all of the equipment, we received a phone call saying that they could not find the keys to the car that we rented. We assured them that we had in fact returned the car (an hour or so earlier than agreed). They then accused us of returning the car a day and a half late, then threatened to charge us both for they key and late charge. They then proceeded to tell us that they had no record of times that cars are returned or surveillance cameras. After we told them that we were on our way to talk to them in person, we get another phone call saying that they mixed up the paperwork. They called us before they even had all the facts and barely apologized for the accusations later. This is the worst rental experience I have ever had. DO NOT RENT FROM SUNSHINE RENTALS. This place is HORRIBLE! Terrible customer service, high prices, etc.etc. Huge employee turnover rate, they have an ad in the local paper EVERY week seeking employees. The company has been photocopying parking passes to display in their window so they can park their electric cars on Duval St. DO NOT GET A SCRATCH ON A SCOOTER! Minimum damage charge = $350. Sunshine is one of the ONLY scooter rental companies in Key West which pays their employees a commission based on the damages caused by a customer, so don't expect a good training class, they WANT you to damage the scooter!! Next time we are going to rent from Key West Moped, much much better service and scooters. I encourage ALL potential customers to read the online reviews, or just ask ANY local.
