I have been tanning for almost a month now. Great staff at this location as well as the Beaverton location. They are friendly and always take good care of me when I go in. I don't hear sales pitches every time which I love, they are just more concerned with my tanning time and that I am tanning safely. :) I would highly recommend Suns Up Tanning. Just started tanning after many years off and I thought the staff was amazing at this location! Nicole W helped me with choosing the correct package and lotion, I left very satisfied! Took my husband in the next day and someone else helped us wish I had her name because she was great also. Very friendly and helpful staff! #76153 more

If I could I would give no stars. Horribly uninformed and pushy staff. I didn't go in there once where they didn't try to pressure me to buy some lotion or some other overly priced product. When my wife tried to cancel our memberships (because she is pregnant and we hadn't used it in 2 months) the staff tried three different times to convince her it was a good idea to tan while pregnant. My wife finally had to tell the person that the suggestion makes her uncomfortable and please stop asking. more

Reveling the reality of Suns Up tanning, from an inside perspective. I have worked for Suns Up, and I want truth to be told about this establishment, so all potential customers know what is going on behind the scenes, to make an educated decision to tan here, or not. Suns Up is a wonderful place to get a tan. The beds there do their job, and will get you tan, but at a high price. Employees are treated unfairly, with no breaks permitted, constant change in scheduling, commuting with no offer to be compensated for gas, and un-godly high pressure working situations. To tan here, you will be constantly be pressured to buy lotions and upgrade beds. This is not relaxing for the tanners that enter, and not fair. You as a paying customer should be able to relax with no worry of people shoving lotion down your throat. BUT this pressure comes STRAIGHT from the owners themselves. There is a constant fear going into work there everyday, that if we (as an employee) do not sell enough lotions or upgrade beds, this will result in automatic termination. All this to say, if you are feeling burdened down by high pressure and prices, please know, the employees are struggling as well. Don't become attached to your favorite employees, cause sadly the turnover rate is high, and it's the company's own doing. Please be weary, and hopefully this information will help you make an educated choice on where you spend your money. more

I was a brand new, first time tanner 3/12/2012

I was a brand new, first time tanner last week and the woman there, named Alyssa, was more than helpful. She took the time to explain everything to me and walk me through the center. She explored options with me, and made me feel very confident in the procedures. In a few weeks I am going to Hawaii for the first time and was worried about burning my first day there. With her help and patience I am even more excited for my trip! Every time I have gone in the service has been great and they have been very helpful. I will certainly be sticking with them! I have been a customer for 10 years or 1/5/2012

I have been a customer for 10 years or so and I love the staff at Sun's Up! I went tanning after work today and usually I am able to just go in, tan and zip out but today I had to wait a little while because all of the beds were full. While I waited, I was able to sit down, break my focus on all of my financial problems for a moment and notice my surroundings. Leah Vigus was working and I just wanted to give her a shout out :) She is a fantastic employee and all of us customers are greatful that you found another keeper :) As soon as I can afford it, the next lotion I get is goin on this girls commission :) Keep up the good work sweetie! more

Stopped in because the Tigard salon is close to my house. I just wanted to check out the packages. It was nice to not get the huge sales push. The girl was very friendly and I signed up for unlimited monthly tanning. more

Car Salesman...? 3/30/2011

i walk in and the first thing he says is, ""wow, looks like you need a tan, your're so white!"" okay, i know how white i am, that's why i'm here. so then he proceeds to tell me how much is bed cost him and that he wont let me leave without paying for a package. i told him i just wanted a walk-in, one-time only, minute by minute tan...and he wouldn't let me. the packages just kept going down and down and down in price starting at $300 until he was willing to give this package for just $30 saying he was going to get in trouble doing this but he didn't care. it all seemed really shady so i was trying to leave and when i finally turned down a monthly package of $10 for nine months, he pointed his finger at the door, said ""wow"" and asked me to leave. i left thinking to myself how this salesman was too busy offering me packages that i told him i didn't want than providing customer service. this place sucks, the salesman sucks...i will never recommend this place ever, especially to a first time tanner!!! more

Aweful!! Will never go back! 1/20/2011

I used this tanning place a couple years ago and they were only alright at that time, but they were close so I favored on the side of convenience. At the end of my contract I didn't want to renew so I didn't go in again. Then last fall I needed to get some color for a tropical trip and I stopped by to see pricing on a short term package. And then they said I couldn't tan with them because I owed them almost $200!! They said they tried to charge my card twice after I ended my contract and it wouldn't go through so I owed them bank charges and that they sent me to collections!! They NEVER called me or contacted me about anything! And they had the correct phone and address in their system! What kind of company keeps trying to charge you and adds in fees and doesn't contact you to let you know they have an issue... and then send you to collections without so much as phone call or letter!! I will NEVER EVER EVER go back to a Suns Up store! more

Best service and cleanest I have seen 7/14/2010

I have been tanning at this location for 3 years. Not only did they educate me about tanning, they have helped get the best color on my skin without burning or damage. I was very apprehensive when I started tanning because I have VERY FAIR skin but they have monitored my times, recommended a good lotion and now I have finally a great healthy tan. Every time I visit the store to tan, no matter who is working, I am greeted with a warm smile. Its as if they are actually happy that I am there! I have over eight family members alone that are going to SunsUp Tanning right now and all of them love it. They love the girls and products. that is just family... don't get me started on my friends. this is an fantastic place to tan and I never want to leave. Pros: staff more

Stay away from these people 5/16/2008

My review echos the reviews that I see on Citysearch. They have decent facilities and a really nice premium bed. The problem is that you will get poor and unpredictable treatment every time you go in. Jenny is one of the regular workers that has been there for a couple of years. She honestly must have bipolar disorder and has gone out of her way to be rude and follows up with a smile on the next visit. There is simply is no reason for paying customers to be so down on a membership that they dont feel up to going in and getting a tan. I am canceling my membership this month to find somewhere else to go. Ive had it with Suns Up. Pros: Decent facilities Cons: Some of the staff is absolutely terrible and rude more

ALL AROUND AMAZING 4/28/2008

When i go tanning i want to feel like i am wanted and welcome at SunsUp Tanning they do just that. their staff helps you whenever you have questions and helps you find things that better suits your needs and wants. their hours are fantastic especially because i work late some nights i can easily just go there and tan after work. The atmosphere makes you feel welcome as well they facility is very clean and always up to date. its nice to know that they have a lot of beds to chose from that way you rarely have to wait for a bed. i would recommend SunsUp Tanning to anyone and everyone!! i am never going anywhere else. more

Today I cancelled my membership to Suns up Tanning. I am completely disatisfied with the so called ""customer service"" that is and has been provided. You can count on all of the employees looking ""annoyed"" that you have come in for service or simply have no sense in urgency to get you checked in as they make signs for the office or gossip about their lives. Yesterday, I stopped by for a quick tan after hitting the gym. I did not have my ""tanning key card"" but offered to show a Photo I.D. since I had been dropped off by my husband and did not have my keys. After all, I have been a member for almost one year. The employee looked at me and pointed to the sign that explains the importance of having this card, shrugged her shoulders without offering any type of solution to my problem. Then, looking happy that I could not be helped she smiled and went about her business. Again, without any type of solution to my now wasted trip. Is this normal to deny someone their right to tan, after they pay $30/mo for the package? I am forced to believe that my experiences cannot be out of the ordinary. I have worked in customer service for almost six years and I know the importance of making sure you go above and beyond for your customers. Perhaps my experience will help others find the best service they deserve. With all the other Tanning facilities in the Portland Metro Area, think and look elsewhere before you sign up.
