Editorial review from Citysearch 1/22/2013

I would never live in Sunrise Employee Housing again. \r \r My boyfriend & I are paying close to 400$ a month to clean up after our suite mates (who share our kitchen & bathroom). They leave food out for days, never wash their dishes, leave crumbs and spills all over the counters, and everything we touch (handles of microwave, fridge, sink knobs, etc) are coated in grease. We've had to use our sink in our personal room to wash our dishes because the big sink in the kitchen is always too full of dirty dishes and food. We've also never used the dishwasher, because they have taken it over as a dirty dish storage area. They also don't flush the toilet and leave it very dirty.. if you know what I mean.\r \r I've made multiple reports, taken photos, talked to three different people in the housing department and every time they pretend they are going to do something and nothing changes. We've called the cops because they party so loud, yell, scream, play music loud at 3am, etc. and all housing has done is offer to change our apartment. So instead of them being punished they wanted to allow them to stay and make a mess of the apartment and let those who are following rules and upkeep move.\r \r The price is way to high to be living in a college dorm room type of situation cleaning up after people and dealing with parties when there is no punishment. The rules clearly state you'll be removed if you don't obey certain guide lines and it's a total joke. I will never live here again and I don't suggest it, especially if you have early work hours and want decent sleep. more

This was a terrible living experience. Its employee housing for Keystone so theres a long waiting list of people waiting to get in by midseason. It almost seemed that management was looking for reasons to evict people just to cycle them out and move the next person on the list in. I think they do this to satisfy the resort so the lack of housing doesn't look like a problem on paper. Management comes into your apartment every month to do an ""inspection"" where they basically look for paraphinalia or any other reason to evict you. I went through nine roomates in as many months. Because management obviously doesn't care about their tenants, the tenants treat the apartments very poorly. There were constantly holes in the walls, theft was a problem, also the place is rampant with d r u g s! Tenants are noisy and disrespectful. The walls are paper thin. There is a cop that lives on the premises who has nothing to do but constantly bother you for the smallest transgressions. That's not to talk about the units themselves. One roomate described his room as ""Living in a shoe inside a shoebox."" Pretty accurate. They are TINY. And housing provides extremely uncomfortable furnature and beds. You are not allowed to bring in any of your own furnature. The appliances are old and broken down. Oh and when summer comes and most of the people move out you are manditorily made to move to another apartment in order to ""consolidate"" tenants. One more thing on the negatives, right before I moved out my roomate got bed b u g s! (for some reason b ugs is innapropriate.) These things are almost impossible to get rid of and will probably infest the whole building by the end of next winter. I did give it an extra star though because its only about 1 minute from the resort. Also management is pretty good about responding to maintenance requests. If you move here, start looking for friends and a new place ASAP! more
