ANIMAL OR MONEY LOVER'S, YOU DECIDE! 4/16/2012

""SHOW ME THE MONEY"" LINE WORKED IN THE MOVIE, BUT NOT THE KIND OF SLOGAN YOU WANT TO DESCRIBE YOUR BUSINESS. RECENTLY PURCHASED A KITTEN FROM LOCAL PET SHOP. WITH THE PURCHASE, THE PET SHOP OFFERED US A WELLNESS PLAN FOR THIS CLINIC. SOUNDED GOOD SO WE TOOK OUR KITTEN THERE FOR HIS VACCINATIONS. 1ST WENT WELL, THE SECOND ALMOST KILLED HIM. ALSO WE MISSED ONE SCHEDULED APPT. DUE TO A DEATH IN OUR FAMILY. HAD TO BRING THE KITTEN BACK DUE TO CONSTANT LOOSE AND BLOODY STOOL EVEN AFTER HE WAS TREATED FOR WORMS. BECAUSE WE MISSED ONE APPT. THEY WERE ALL TO HAPPY TO TELL US THAT OUR WELLNESS PLAN WAS REVOKED AND THEIR IMMEDIATE CONCERN WAS THE COST OF TREATMENT FOR OUR CAT AND NOT A BIT CONCERNED ABOUT THE CAT'S HEALTH. I FOUND AN ALTERNATE VET AND FEEL COMPELLED TO ADVISE ANYONE THINKING ABOUT USING THIS CLINIC TO LOOK AROUND FIRST. THERE ARE MANY MORE CARING CLINIC'S FOR YOUR PET IN THE QUEENS AREA WHO'S MAIN CONCERN IS THE HEALTH OF YOUR PET, AND NOT WORRIED ABOUT HOW MUCH MONEY YOU HAVE IN YOUR WALLET. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! IF YOUR PET GETS SICK RIGHT IN FRONT OF THIS PLACE, JUMP IN A CAB AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. more

What are they talking about! 1/26/2012

I don't know how other peoples' experiences differed so much from mine, but I tried several vets for my dog before ultimately settling on Sunnyside. They are a bit pricey, but the vets, technicians, and office staff have always been extremely patient, caring, and helpful on every one of my visits, whether it was a routine checkup or emergency paw stitching. Also, I have insurance for my dog with VPI, and if you bring in a claim form they will help fill it out and fax -- so it's no hassle at all, and helps offset the cost a bit. I'm neurotically overprotective when it comes to my dog, and I always feel like he is in good hands at Sunnyside -- plus, they give me constant status updates, which help with MY separation anxiety! more

I'm so happy I found them 6/5/2010

I moved to Queens two years ago, and was nervous about finding a good vet in the area. An acquaintance referred me to Sunnyside, and I'm so happy I found them. The staff is wonderful, friendly, caring, and you can tell that they like their jobs. We especially like Dr. G. And I love that the staff treat the owners as a partner in the animals' care, unlike some other vets I have encountered that like to talk down to owners. Can be a little pricey, but I am willing to pay for the excellent care they receive at Sunnyside. Pros: Up front about prices more

I WANT THE BEST CARE 4/23/2010

Dr. Goldenberg and staff are the best care givers you could ever trust your pets to. They are caring, compassionate and knowledgable professionals who treat each animal in their care as if it were there own pet. Their facility is spotless and well maintained. I have been taking my cats to sunnyside for over 7 years now and wouldn't trust their care to anyone else. They are a tad one the pricey side but worth every penny. If you want top notch care for your pets you can't go wrong taking your pets to Dr. Goldenberg and staff. more

Please don't go here! 4/8/2010

simply cannot stress enough the importance of avoiding this place at all costs! Pros: NOTHING Cons: Money sucking - Useless more

terrible bedside manner 9/17/2009

After moving to New York, I needed to find a local vet. I made the mistake of trying Dr. Goldenberg, since he was in my neighborhood. I, like others, found the experience to be awful. The wait was long, he was rude and even insinuated that I didn't care about my cat. He spent VERY little time with her, and I feel that in the end, I likely paid for several tests that were unnecessary, or at the very least were ill-explained. It would have been well worth the travel time, even with a sick cat, to have gone elsewhere! Pros: in the neighborhood Cons: rude, and always a very long wait more

Amazing staff, thank you soo much! 4/3/2008

Before goin to sunnyside clinic, I got the worst experience ever, you can read the review about it whit Queens animal hospital, but sunnyside clinic saw my cat in a emergency situation, that they did not even created the mess in the first place, took an amazing care for her, and they treated my little cat knowing that it was the second time she had to go threw that ordeal. They where great, the vet and the staff where perfect, thank you soo much again!!!! more

Avoid avoid avoid! 2/25/2008

After misdiagnosing (and never following up) on my cat who subsequently died from metastatic cancer 3 years ago, I made the mistake of nearly repeating history by bringing her geriatric litter mate to Dr. Goldenberg with what appeared to be a feline gastroenteritis - Outrageous prices, long uncomfortable waits, history taken by techs (!!!) and no more than two minutes spent with my cat by the good Dr. himself. Upon a return visit three days later (as my cat was not improving), Dr. Goldenberg spent now ONE minute with my cat and ordered via his tattooed and ESL receptionist a REPEAT battery of tests (plus an expensive assortment that were absolutely unnecessary) - Several were the very same tests that had been performed 3 days prior! After being badgered two or three times by said ESL receptionist for a decision during which she and Goldenberg were audibly arguing over the estimate in the hall outside our exam room (the most attention paid to us, no pun intended, since our arrival), we demanded her CBC results and x-rays and got the hell out of there - The Dr. refused to even give our acutely dehydrated cat rudimentary fluids without admitting her (at a cost of almost $1,300 - the 'minimum' estimate). At our Manhattan clinic (where we immediately went) we were treated with genuine respect and concern - our cat is hospitalized there as I type - :*-( Pros: If you live in Sunnyside, it's convenient. Cons: If you live in Sunnyside, it's convenient to bypass this clinic and visit one that's staffed by competents, be it in Queens or Manhattan. more

Dr. Goldenberg is a rip-off and a ssecond-rate doctor 8/19/2007

We moved into the neighborhood recently, and brought all of our pets -- two cats and one dog -- to the vet. What a mistake. Pros: convenient to public transportation Cons: poor service, overpriced, bad advice from vet more
