FIrst of all, be aware that I wouldn't have even given this place one star if it hadn't been required to post a comment. Don't be fooled by the beautiful REAL beach picture that is on the home page for Sun Valley Beach. In reality, all this place is is a giant FILTHY pool with sand around it that is filled with chipped concrete pieces. It should not be legal to post a misleading picture on the webpage. Clearly, I am aware that Powder Springs, GA is not a coastal city, so I am smart enough to realize that picture was not a true and acurate representation of Sun Valley, but it is such a far stretch from the way the place actually exists that it seems a desperate attempt on the part of the owners to draw people into their money trap. The owners are rude and clearly do not care about their property nor their patrons. The place is completely run down, dirty, and in disrepair to the point of being dangerous....and be warned....once you have entered the trap after paying their inflated admission prices, you absolutely will not get your money back even though swimming in the water could cause personal injury or illness. The owner told us that, "When we own OUR own business, WE can run it however WE want." On my visit, this past Saturday, there was trash in the pool, including cigarette butts and used BandAids (which I know were not just from that day because I was there right after they opened). The surface of the pool is so cracked and chipped that you can feel sharp edges with your feet. There are broken stairs to the water slides which pose serious dangers to patrons (particularly children). This place should be shut down or at the very least, the owners should be forced to clean the place up. I will never visit there again, and I will continue to spread news of my horrible experience there to anyone and everyone I can. Save your money and save your children from disappointment by staying as far from this place as possible. more

AWFUL 7/21/2011

We went there thinking it would be a fun day in the sun, but it ended up to be the most AWFUL experience I have ever encountered with a water/theme park. The lifeguards were inattentive, the patrons of the water park were crude and rude to myself and my children. After going to the gate about 35 minutes after being there to try and speak to the owners I was offended like no other. The OWNER informed me that maybe he should call DFACS on me since I wasn't watching my kids, when it was 15 year old lifeguards not doing their job. I also informed the owner that I was harassed while waiting in line to go down the slide with my 6 year olds and they said they had no control over what happens in THEIR park. WHAT????? I told them how ridiculous that statement was and informed him that I would be reporting his business to the BBB and the health department. He offended me and could have really cared less about my children's well being. He was a jerk and I will never go there again. For 3 children and 2 adults it was almost $100....save your money~~!!!!!! more

Going down the hill 7/5/2011

I visited this place back in 2009 and me, my wife and 2 daughters were amazed. Yesterday, 4th of July 2011, we invited 5 couples of friends and theirs kids to enjoy the day there, what a shame!! First, they didn't honor the entertainment book coupons, we all became a member to print the coupons and sun valley beach didn't accepted. They pavillions now are paid, you have to pay U$ 100.00 to use it, and that information isn't at their website. Because the sky was a little clouded, we had to stay out of the pool for almost 2 hours, when we finilly get inside the water, I found out that the pool has a big hole in its concrete, where they used to have a big monkey swing, I told the young life guard about and he said: "It's pretty sharp isn't?"" They slides are peeling off the paint everywhere and all metal parts are rusted. This place used to be a good place once, but seems the owner is just filling his pockets with the money every year and not doing any maintenance, by the way the rised the price to US$ 20.00 per Adult and U$ 17.00 for the kids. Worst day in our 2011 summer.... more

Terrible place to visit--IT SUCKS 5/9/2010

This place sucked!!!! I took my daughter and some friends to Sun Valley Beach for her 9th birthday and we were treated badly. All the people of color had to stay to one side of the pool, while all the white people were on the other side--so the pool was segregated. The restrooms were "out of order" so everyone i assumed used to pool--and the smell of the pool is proof of this. The woman lifeguard was rude to all the kids and nasty to their parents. She said that all the kids under the age of 7 had to hold their parents hands while in the pool--WHAT??? How is this possible---this woman made it impossible to have a good time. 30 minutes later the same lady changed to rule by saying kids under the 12 must have an adult in the pool with them--my kids are excellent swimmer but were not able to go pass the kiddy pool--they could not even go into the 3 feet....The water slides did not have water coming down them, so you could not successfully slide down without scarring up your legs. The pool was nasty, dirty and smelled like spoiled fish. They called the police on so many kids to put them out of the pool--for no reason(this is not fair after people pay good money to get in) They are so rude and nasty to everyone but you just have to take it because they will not issue you a refund when you try to leave. This place is over priced and not worth the money you pay. I will not recommend this place to anyone because you will not enjoy it. The customer service sucked!!!! I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!!! more

A nice day 10/17/2005

Sun Valley Beach is a fun place to take the kids on a hot summer day. The little ones can play and you don't have to worry about too much craziness that happens at White Water. We picnic and just relax . I do think it is a bit expensive and we do it only as a special treat. more

A great family water park. 8/20/2005

This is a smaller version of some of the huge water parks. It's small enough that your kids will enjoy it, but you won't worry about where they are. It's just outside of Powder Springs in Cobb County. You can even bring your family reunions or youth groups and reserve the pavilion. more
