IF IT'S CARDIAC STAY AWAY FROM BOSWELL 9/2/2011

Had an echo cardiogram ... technician didn't know how to use machine ... company rep was there to help her .. never did scan just left the scanner device in one place ... sent my physician a ""normal"" report. No way could they have obtained valid results. Tech didn't know she wasn't supposed to push Enter rather than another key to get pictures. It was a debacle. Doctor in room just stood there did nothing when he knew the test wasn't being done properly. This was the second try at this test. They messed up on scheduling for the first one. more

You will never find more caring and loving staff! 4/11/2009

Our family has used Boswell Hospital several times including my son, husband, mother and myself. My mother is currently 91 years old and is there now after shattering her thigh. I have never seen a staff more caring and helpful than at this hospital. They are all happy to assist both the patient and the family. I have yet to see a grumpy staff member and they really know how to work with the older generation. Additionally, when we have had to use the Emergency Room our wait has been less than any other hospital I have used. I would recommend this hospital to anyone! Pros: They are used to serving the senior generation. Cons: Food could be improved. more

Don't Choose This Hospital! 12/29/2008

I was admitted for overnight observation following what had been planned to be an out-patient surgery. The care I received on the floor was absolutely horrible! I was to have had my arm immoblized by a sling ... although I asked about it several times, it didn't arrive until just prior to change of shift the following morning. The night nurse, though she checked on me through the night, did not appear to be at all knowledgeable regarding my file and my needs. However, I should have been happy that she checked on me at all, it seems. When the day staff came on the next day, my ""day nurse"" came in and wrote her name on the board. She asked me if I needed anything. I asked for some jello (I was on clear liquids and would not be released until I could keep them down). She never brought the jello. I had to ask the nurse aide for it later. The nurse aide came in several times (when called) but left me to negotiate the IV pole in and out of the restroom. At 11 a.m. I started to wonder when/if I was going to be released. I buzzed the day nurse, the nurse aide came. She knew nothing. Said she would find out. Didn't. They tried to blame it on my dr's office. I finally called my dr from my cell phone. She said she had talked to the day nurse TWICE and had given my discharge orders. I overhead the nurse aide tell the day nurse that I had called the dr myself. After that, the day nurse came in with an ""attitude"" to tell me that she was extremely busy and had ""been on the phone all morning on my behalf ...."" Really?? Hmmmm ... Bottomline, I found the care in this hospital to be seriously sub-standard and given a choice, I would NEVER have a procedure done there again, nor would I ever recommend it to anyone. In fact, my CAT gets better care from my veterinarian than I got from this hospital! Boswell Hospital is a blemish on the Banner network of healthcare facilities! Cons: Waiting area very dated, ""chopped up,"" staff incompetence, sub-standard patient care more
