Summit Primary Care walk-in staffs are thugs, they bill you unneccessarily. I cancelled my appointment and my wife appointment through their website, but, still they kept on adding charges and did not listen to any of my justifications when I called billing desk. Another thing is that during my first physical, they did some tests which my insurance did not cover (I havent asked for any test myself) and later on put those charges and late fee on me. Please be very careful if you are going there. more

Momof2littleones, Dr. Vasquez was the only reason I went to Summit Primary. He was an amazing doctor and the only one I've had with my many years of odd illnesses who actually listened to me, thus improving the care I received. Since he's been gone, it's been pretty bleak but I just haven't felt like searching for someone new because that's always a dreadful process. But each time I have to go in or call, dealing with the rudeness of some of the ladies up front really make me realize how it's time to go to someone new. more

Natalie, Medical assistants are not allowed to diagnose. Its illegal. If you have not made a complaint to the state board, please do so! You may save a life. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/8/2012

I went with a few symptoms asking the Medical Assistant for a diagnosis. Rather than spending anytime with me she sent me for about 300 dollars worth of tests and a referral to a cardiologist because my EKG was ""a lil off"" (I am a perfectly healthy 30 year old with an awesome bp and otherwise very fit) After a 400 dollar trip to the cardiologist, he said there was nothing wrong with me and that he said ""you likely had a viral ear infection, it fits your symptoms perfectly, and she should have known she wouldn't have seen that by looking in your ear."" She was completely incapable and wrote me a bunch of prescriptions for a variety of things unrelated to my condition and the only one I filled did nothing for me, and given the real diagnosis, wouldn't have. 700 dollars later, and no diagnosis, she is what's wrong with the health care system. Some critical thinking, some knowledge and sending me home to rest since you cant treat a viral infection would have cost about 600 dollars less. I would NOT recommend going here--one trip to a GOOD dr is way better than several trips to a practice where no one is qualified or willing to actually treat their patients. more

Summit Primary Care 6/21/2011

We absolutely LOVE Dr. Vasquez, he is a wonderful doctor. However, often times the girls at the front desk are rude and we have had a couple questionable issues with billing come up. more

Office staff sucks 3/14/2011

I have an appt on Wednesday but ran out of test strips to test my blood with. Office would not call in a perscription for the test stips until I was seen by the Dr. This isn't a control subtance people!! It's test strips!!!!! Not happy so far with this staff but we'll wait for my appointment on wednesday to review the dr. more

No insurance no help 8/27/2010

I had an appointment with Dr. Edward King yesterday. I had been a patient of his for six years. I had lost my medical insurance and was a cash paying customer. Members of my family who had met him did not like him. My son had also been seeing him for years but didn't like going there. Although he was not an excellent doctor he had always been good to me. Until yesterday, he talked to me terrible, said you are a 55 year old woman with no insurance, and was impossible to talk to. It was as if I should have known better than to even make an appointment without insurance more

Good group of docs 2/4/2010

I have been a patient for several years and have never had an issue with the staff. I have seen a few of the doctors at Summit Primary Care, and all of them have been very responsive and caring to my needs. Highly recommended. more

I love this practice and all the Dr.'s here 10/27/2009

I have been coming here for several years (Over 9years) and I have always had the best service and care. I have to bring my son every 3 months and he is seen quickly and on time, everytime. The staff is always friendly and helpful, especially the records dept. We have had to request info (records) several times for employers and schools, Sherry is always polite and efficient. Dr. Vasguez and his nursing support team are amazing ! I am so thankful for the walk in clinic, haveing this service has allowed me to be seen by a Dr. and get treatment while on my way to work. I give 2 thumbs up for the care and customer service from this office. Thank You for all you do. I understand that in eery office at differnt times, communication can be an issue. However, I have had better luck here than at other specialists offices. My meds have been called in on time, My billing and insurance has always been handled quickly and efficiently. If you read the reviews that are negative, make note of which D more

DON'T GO! 10/15/2009

Have been a patient at Summit Primary Care for 15 years. Went in to be seen this morning and was told I would need to pay a balance of $65 from a year ago in addition to my co-pay in order to be seen. I paid the amount. Was called up a short time later and told I would need to pay an additional $60+ for the same visit from the year before in order to be seen. I walked out. Was called an hour later and told my account would be considered current, the second charge had been forgiven, and I could be seen. I had been to the practice twice in as many days to be seen at the walk-in clinic. Will not be going back. Am spending my morning looking for a new doctor! Cons: Poor customer service, shady billing practices more

Dr. Vazquez 7/8/2009

I recently changed my grandmother's care to Dr. Vazquez. She speaks Spanish (although at 87 she is trying her best to learn English bless her heart!), so his being able to speak to her and her be able to understand him was a plus to begin with. He was very nice and took the time to listen to her. I had no trouble getting an appointment or with the girls at the check-in desk. I have called once for the nurse, and I did receive a call by the end of the day. I wish others had as pleasant experience as I had. Pros: bilingual more

Three years and counting 7/1/2009

I have been a patient for almost 3 years I have seen Dr. Pak, Dr. Hamby, & Dr. Beckham. I like them very much and I have had good experiences with the staff but I did try and use the walk- in clinic one Saturday and was turned away, there is only so many things they will see you for. I understand that but wish I would not have known before driving 30 minutes. I have heard only good things about the practice which is why I started going there in the first place. In reply to one of the other reviews: policies are necessary for a sucessful practice. You see business's shutting down and laying off everyday and from what I hear this place has been in business a very long time. Congrats to you guys @ Summit Primary Care. more

Long time patient 7/1/2009

I have been going to Summit Primary Care for almost 20 years. They were down in Donelson @ that time. The girls @ the front desk know me and greet me as soon as I walk in the door. Sometimes I do have to wait a bit for Dr. Gaston has so many patients, but that is not a problem & is expected in a large practice as such. I have referred many friends here and they love it as well. more

New patient experience 5/20/2009

I recently moved to Hermitage from Oklahoma and needed to find a new doctor, and a friend referred me to Dr. Hamby. I saw her for the first time this morning, and she really took time to listen and understand my needs. The girls at the check-in desk were very helpful and friendly, and I didn't really wait very long to see Dr. Hamby. Overall good experience! more

Excellent Care 5/12/2009

I'm not sure where these other reviewers went, but I have been a patient at this facility for several years, and I have never had a problem. The staff is always very kind and efficient, and I have noticed how discreet they are when communicating to other patients. I have seen almost all of the doctors there, and they have all shown great care. The walk-in clinic is just that, a walk-in clinic. I have had to be seen there a couple of times, too. Yes, I had to wait a few minutes, but that is expected with any walk-in clinic. Overall, Summit Primary Care gives excellent service and care. more

Good group of employees! 5/5/2009

My mother works at Summit Primary Care in the back offices as Supervisor of medical records and I know the girls that work in the back with her are just as nice as they can be. All the front office staff are sweet and patient, as well. Yes, there probably have been a few young girls working in the front office in the past who maybe didn't have alot of experience, but for the most part everyone at SPC is courteous, friendly, caring & helpful, that includes the nursing staff, as well as the physicians & other providers. The employees there just follow policy and I feel there is nothing rude about that. more

Not focused on the patient 1/31/2009

I would love to change from Summit but can't find a family practice group as close to me. The communications process is terrible. They don't relay messages back to the doctor and force patients to come in for a visit just to renew a prescription, even though you may have just see a doctor. They are much too focused on getting as many patients in as possible during a day with little time to really talk to you. And don't be late. If you are 10 minutes late they coldly tell you that the doctor "might" not see you because they have a late policy. Yet, when I've waited more than 30 minutes past my appointment, they really don't care. more

Medical practice 9/15/2008

Summit Primary Care is a group of doctors in Hermitage. I have visited both Dr. Mindy Hamby and Dr. Ernesto Vasquez. Both are excellent physicians, very careful and conscientious. Dr. Vasquez is bilinqual which is a nice plus, and Dr. Hamby is a huge animal lover. \r The practice, however, is not well managed. Messages are not relayed promptly, and are generally relayed incorrectly. So if you have a problem outside of your office visit good luck getting direction or assistance.\r Also, the Walk-In Clinic is a waste of money and time. It is neither convenient nor helpful. Save yourself the hassle and just wait for an appointment with your regular doctor. more
