The owners of suffern furniture are the worst. They are rude and they have terrible customer service. I purchased a dinning room table from them and told them I would be picking it up. I asked them if they could bring it up from the back room downstairs. They told me no they wouldn't do that because if I didn't like it they would have to bring it back downstairs. I told them I had seen the set already and I liked it. Clearly going out of their way just a little bit is too much trouble. When I went today to pick it up, the lady Joy said you know where your table is you can go see it. Not one person came down to see if we need help only to ask me to pay for the rest of the table. They didn't even clear the other furniture out of the way so we could get through without damaging anything. We had to move other furniture in the store just to get by. As I was coming up the stairs with the chairs in hand the owner Joy is asking me to come settle the bill. Clearly they only care about getting their payment and not keeping business. When I asked if I could get something taken off the bill for all this work they told me no and that when I put the deposit down I was told I would have to bring it up. Which is not true. I told them they had bad customer service. They don't care about having happy customers. They need a serious attitude change in there because right now they should not be working with people. more

The ONLY thing good: The price. Now on to the BAD: the service is so poor, the quality is even worse, and the owner needs to get a personality overhaul as he is nasty, he doesn't care at all about customer satisfaction, and he obviously doesn't care about making long term customers. I've purchased over $200,000 dollars of furniture for my home over the last decade from many different sources including North Carolina, Macy's, Ethan Allen, local antique shops, etc. I never encountered any other store representative that was as abrasive as the Suffern Furniture owner and his staff (including the delivery department). In the end, I decided it was worth losing most of my deposit (probably all of it because they still haven't credited my credit card), then to pay any more for the junk that they tried to deliver. I will never step foot in Suffern Furniture again. I only wish I would have read the reviews before I placed my initial order. more

VERY Sneaky people at Suffern. Watch yoursef 3/26/2012

purchased and large entertainment center. one base and a large hutch. Prior to delivery, they said top hutch was damaged during shipment and they needed to order another. They said they can bring the borrom, but we just said no problem, bring them together. A week later, they return and it looks fabulous. no probems... until, a couple of years later, we notice something up with one of the corners on the top hutch. My cousin, who owns a large moving company in the north east US, noticed this too, and actually commented that this was a real bad repair job. I have never see this before, so I didnt even think of that. No doubt, it was the damaged piece they just had fixed and redeliverd. bunch of liars. Funny thing is, my cousin also mentioned, when this happens, they just call the factory and just ship a new one right away and the furniture stores make out because they sell both as brand new. Dont go here. I prefer to support local mom and pop stores, but lots of people dont.. and here is why. more

I have been buying furniture at Suffern Furniture for 20+ years. The selection is overwhelming, as there is something for everyones taste and decor. The personnel are very helpful but not overbearing. If you enjoy good quality furniture with a personal touch, Suffern Furniture is a great store to shop. The pricing is on the upper end for some items but the quality is worth it. I had a living room set for 15 years. I only got rid of it because I changed my style. I still have the 20 year old bed room set. It is just as solid as the day I bought it. Besides, suffern Furniture is local, convenient, and keeps business in Rockland County. There are financing options (we recently got a no interest option). I am currently waiting for the delivery of my new dining set. I will continue to shop here for my home. Give it a try! KA more

You'll find some beautiful furniture at Suffern Fine Furniture but you'll certainly pay highly for it. They have some lovely pieces and arrangements but the prices really are very high. You'll certainly be better off shopping at a department store and getting a discount by opening a credit card or using one of their coupns. The service here is better than you would find at a department store but that still doesn't make up for the outrageous prices.Shop here only if money isn't of concern. more
