Editorial review from Citysearch 10/30/2012

I've been in Dr. Romanick's care for over a decade, and for good reason. You will not find a more thorough or genuinely nice doctor anywhere. She actually takes the time to explain what's going on -- something I wish more doctors would do. Her clinic isn't some impersonal factory business that inputs and outputs patients at warp speed. I suspect this is the reason why there's often a wait time in her clinic. But I'll take world-class medical care with a wait over jumping from doctor to doctor looking for answers any day of the week. While many other doctors ""pass the buck,"" I go to Dr. Romanick because I know I will get answers and an explanation. There's not much else I can ask for as a patient. And I believe this requires extra time to understand history/symptoms/etc moreso than the usual visit to your primary care Doc. Her schedule is booked precisely because she's excellent at what she does and her medical peers respect her as a result. This speaks for itself in terms of her standing in the medical profession and how competent her peers believe her to be. Frankly, I'd be concerned going to a doctor that was available any time I wanted. I've had an outstanding experience with Dr. Romanick, her nurse practitioners, and her staff. She's incredibly knowledgable and caring every time I see her, and I know she will do her best to help me each and every visit -- an opinion shared by others I know under her care right now. more

When asking questions about the 5/3/2012

When asking questions about the doctor's recommended drug therapy my wife was yelled at and ridiculed for questioning the doctor's plan. Later in our relationship with this doctor, my son got sick and we had to cancel an appointment. I called the day before the appointment and spoke to their answering service. I was assured they would notify the doctor of our call and there was no issue. Later I received a bill for $150 for a ""no show"". Now they refuse to remove the charge from my account. Do yourself a favor and find a different doctor. more

As with some of the others, I wish I 4/27/2012

As with some of the others, I wish I had read these reviews prior to going. This doctor has the worst bedside manner of any I have ever encountered. Her Nurse Practitioner is great but the fees are based on the doctor which in 2 visits I may have actually seen for 15 minutes total. During the last appt, the doctor talked to the nurse and ignored me. I am cancelling and will try another doctor. She obviously does not read these reviews because she has not taken any corrective action in 2 years. more

worst ever 4/5/2012

I have been seeing Dr Romanick for 2 years. I have never waited less than 45 min after my appt time. I've only seen the Dr once for maybe 5 min. Last visit she was 1 hr and 15 min late. It was a routine check-up to continue my prescription. They said I needed bloodwork. So I went in for the tests, two weeks later the receptionist calls to say I had some abnormal results and I needed to follow up with my general practitioner. The receptionist is very young, and not professional. She could give me no information on what these elevated levels meant. My general practitioner has been unable to get teh test results from Dr. Romanick after multiple phone calls so I had to get multiple tests done again. As the abnormal results are associated with the medication prescribed by Dr. Romanick it makes no sense that she would not follow up with this. My GP is not familiar with Humira or psoriatic arthiritis and really just can go over possible effects and refer me to another specialist since Romanick seems incapable of diagnosing or seeing me. WORST DOCTOR EVER. more

Worst Experiance EVER! I am still in shock 3/25/2012

I have been seeing this office since 2009 I believe at first it was ok, but things went down hill fast! in 2010 they refused to see my because I had recieved dshs as a secondary insurance while I was pregnant with my daughter instead of beig polite and explanining why they would not see me, they just treated me like I was scum on the earth, so I found another Dr, that took both insurance's I was not going to go back to Dr. Romanicks because they were so rude. but I decided to do so. in Jan.2012, I finally got around to calling to schedule a appointment because I really felt i needed some answers. I tried asking over the phone how much of my medication I should be taking since my last flare caused a increased dose.. they would not tell me over the phone instead said I HAD to be seen which was understandable so I scheduled a appt the soonest I could get in was end of March. and that was with me being open everyday anytime. The day finally came around, and I was anxious to get seen. I arrived to the office a few minutes early at 3:00 my appt was at 3:15, the girl up front were friendly a little unprofessional though but they were young overall they were fine. I left my phone in the car to be polite. I was waiting in the waiting room for quite a while I was not sure how long exactly but then the receptionist said they were almost ready to room me and then a few minutes later she took me back and said they would be right in so I was sitting and wondering when are they coming, I needed to pick up my daughters at daycare a hour away at 5pm. I fell asleep in the room waiting soooo long finally I opened the door and asked how much long, having no clue how long I was really waiting they said she is still with her last patient.. uhh ok, then I asked what time it was and they said4:30!!!! I was in complete SHOCK!!!! I work in the medical field and understand things can get backed up but I would never leave a patient sitting that long, so I said I have to go this is ridiculous, the girls upfront were calm and acted like no big deal. as I am walking out they say you can call to reschedule!! NO WAY!! I would rather not take my meds then see this horrible, unorganized office ever again!!! after I left I began bawling while I was driving. I decided to call there office to speak with the dr, btw I have never met!! the receptionist said she is with a patient I can relay the msg, So I went off saying how I made it 2 months ago and arranged daycare so I could make it, and clearly I needed answers as my symtpoms has increased extremly. I said I want her to call me back, and she said I can guarante she wont we close in 5 mins!!! UMMM EXCUSE me!!! I just sat in your office for a hour and half and she cant call me back at least. non the less I never recieved a call back! and am trying to find a new dr that actually cares about other peoples lives not just making bank money. DR. ROMANICK has the most UNORGANIZED, UNPROFESSIONAL, UNPLEASANT office I have ever been to. I hope she reads this and all of the other horrible reviews on here and feels like crap. you should not even be a dr. more

Such a disappointment! 1/30/2012

What a mistake. My doctor actually referred me to another doctor, but I chose her based on her website. I was so desperate to get pain relief and finally get some real answers as to why my health has been heading down. MISTAKE! It took me two months to get in as a new patient. I marked it on my calendar with a STAR. I scrambled schedule around that day and just barely made it on time to my appointment with all my documents in hand that they had me fill out before I went in. I was happy to do so, there were more questions on there than anyone had ever asked me before. Finally someone looking at the full me. WRONG. Just like the other reviews, I waited in the waiting room for 20 minutes. Mind you my low back is in great pain when I sit. Then, finally, the receptionist apologized and took me back to the room. I, again, waited ANOTHER 45 minutes to see her. She rushed in talking about a new computer system and how awful she is using it. No apology for my time - and the fact I have two kids at home and now I am going to be late getting home. She did a five minute exam by pushing on some points, listened to my heart and asked me about 4 questions off of the pages and pages of information I had filled out. She gave me three possible diagnosis which blew my mind as did not tell me what they meant. I asked her why she thought these things and she said based on my previous blood work markers. I asked her to explain what those ""markers"" meant three different times and she never did. She wrote me a prescription and said after a month I would need to see an eye doctor to have my eyes checked. WHAT? Well, my eye doctor will know why when I tell them the medicine I am taking. What is that medicine meant to treat? I have no idea still. Not going to take it. She even told me to look up Lupus ON-LINE when I asked for more explanation!! Seriously, I left there being told I may have Lupus, Fibermyalsia and/or arthritis. I am 40. She flew out the door, said her staff had already gone home and to call after 2-3 months for the next appointment. I went to my car and cried on the phone to my husband. I thought I was over this until I saw she charged me $400 for this CONSULT! To me this was nothing short of insulting. I have never written a review but I know others will be hoping for help - don't expect to get it here. I have since been accupuncture and feel so much better. NOTE: Do not take prescriptions just because they are handed out by an expert! These can have serious side-effects and you deserve the care you are paying for. more

Don't See Her! 12/30/2011

I wish that I had read some of these reviews before wasting my time with this ""doctor"". I was referred to her by my dermatologist. It took me 2 months to get an appointment, but that is common with new patients and busy popular doctors. I filled out all of my new patient paperwork and arrived a few minutes early for my appointment. There are no medical assistants there, the receptionist puts you in the room. I waited 45 minutes to see her. I almost walked out because I was tired of waiting. When she did finally come in, there was no acknowledgement of her making me wait. She spent all of 15 minutes with me and gave me a diagnosis before even having any lab work done or anything. I will never go back here and I will make sure that I let everyone know not to see her. I got my insurance statement and she had billed $400 for that 15 minutes of her time! It's total robbery as far as I'm concerned! DO NOT SEE HER! SHE WILL ROB YOU BLIND! more

Lots of knowledge, not alot of care 10/15/2010

While I apperciated her knowledge I felt her bedside manner was less than appealing. I did not feel I was fully informed of either my diagnosis or how to manage it. And in general she seemed rushed, overworked and in her own medical world, having a hard time connecting me as a patient and a person. I would not and will not be going back to her. more

Do NOT go here 11/23/2009

Prepare to sit for hours before being seen. If your appt. is at 3 dont be surprised if you do not get seen at 5pm and have to be rushed out without being properly seen. Dr. is rude and tactless to patients as well as her staff. I understand a Doctors need to take their time with each patient, but also good time management is also appreciated when all of us have busy lives. Horrible. Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything more

nothing but praise 2/6/2009

Dr. Romanick takes the time to talk and explore a wide variety of avenues. Where some might just prescribe pills and leave it at that, she works with the patient to address possible lifestyle changes to improve quality of life and relieve symptoms. She seems genuinely concerned that I get the treatment that best fits me, instead of trying to make my symptoms fit a prepared treatment plan. This has resulted in addressing specific symptoms over time, which allows results to be more easily visible, but in the long run I am much better off and the combination of solutions has resulted in a big improvement. I heartily recommend her and her polite, supportive staff. more

Excellent rheumatology specialist 10/28/2008

Dr. Romanick and her staff take plenty of time to learn the patient's concerns, and they are persistent in their efforts to continue to improve health and well-being. more

Dr. Romanick NOT recommended 7/16/2008

Before I saw her, I got a letter from Dr. Romanick's office warning me not to be late and to call if I had to cancel, or else. In return I had to wait over an hour to see her. My questions were barely answered--when I asked her about a certain medication's side effects she told me she would not even consider that at the present time, not until her tests were completed--and I was given hundreds of dollars worth of tests to have done plus x rays and given what seemed like a scary potential diagnosis. She told me that it would take at least a couple of weeks to get the results and at that time she would let me know what to do. I waited but she never called me. Finally, after three weeks, I called her office and was told, with total unconcern, that they did not think they needed to contact me because the tests were normal. Respect works both ways. I was sitting at home, scared to death about this diagnosis, having been told specifically to wait. Well, after following her numerous rules and waiting for her and listening to her, I think she could have taken five minutes and called me with my test results. She never even followed through to help me get to the bottom of the problem! It was like she figured those tests were normal so she was done with it. It was off of her radar screen so forget me as a person. I had to end up going to another doctor, who found out what was wrong with me--and bingo! the problem was from the very side effects I had suspected! If she had bothered to listen to me, her patient, we might have gotten to the bottom of it collaboratively, working together, with much less cost to me, both financially as well as emotionally. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone unless they have a very specific rheumatalogical issue and do not mind long waiting room visits and respect which is all one-sided. Pros: Parking was easy and the secretary was friendly Cons: I had to wait well over an hour, I was never called back with test results, the dr. did not seem to care about me once I left her office. more

Great staff - Great doctor 12/7/2006

The staff is very professional, but very polite. Before you go in for your first visit you are mailed a very thorough questionaire for you to fill out so that the doctor has a complete knowledge of your history. She is by far the best specialist I have seen. She takes plenty of time so that you understand the problem and she send reports to all your physicans so they are in the loop. Her staff is polite, coureous, and just plain nice. She is a credit to the medical profession. Pros: Staff is outstanding, doctor is fantastic more
