When I created Studio Mac Salon it was at first a place to play with hair. After 11 years it has become so much more. Each year I travel to NYC to be inspired; then return to share with my stylist's. I feel responsible to the beautiful clients. From the moment they arrive until we wave goodbye. A follow-up phone call to just check how the ""new do"" is doing. The latest trends and proper style fit for every face shape and ability is who I am. Hair is my passion and yes my responsibility to give our clients the best knowledge and know how to look and feel their best while re-creating their style. I have been a client of Studio Mac for many years now and every time I leave, I love the final product! The Salon has a very Spa like environment, everyone is so warm, polite and welcoming - offering delicious little snacks and drinks. By constantly attending Hair Shows and other educational events, the Staff is always up to date on the newest trends in color, cut and hair accessories. I recently walked in with long, boring hair and walked out with the cutest ""bob"" cut that I constantly get compliments on! My hair is rather stubborn and Cathy is always very patient and precise making a very clean and professional looking cut! more

Every six weeks on a Friday afternoon I can't wait to leave work and head to Studio Mac. Immediately following my first visit, 6+ years ago, I knew I would never have to look for another hairstylist. from the moment I walk in the door until the time I cash out, Cathy and the girls provide a welcoming atmosphere with great conversation, attention to detail and most importantly, a true dedication to their profession. At Studio Mac it is more than evident that their clients are their first priority. I always have Cathy's full attention during my appointment which leaves no room for error. Cathy is a true professional who not only does a phenomenal job coloring, cutting and styling my hair, she has taken the time to educate my on how to properly and effectively maintain my hair. She tailors hair products to meet my needs throughout the changing seasons and never sells me what I don't need. My hair has been chemically treated for years but only since having sat in Cathy's chair has it looked so natural and felt so soft. Best Salon Ever The fact that I travel an hour and ten minutes from MA to Studio Mac for the past eighteen months should be testimony to the fact that I have found my hair dresser for life....I just live in fear of one day moving out of driving distance to Cathy's wonderful Edward Scissor hands talents! I wonder however is airfare would be an option given the rising price of gas! I have been to salons in Boston at the Westin ( will not mention any names) and on Newbury Street that have come highly recommended in the past and never have I received close to the professional, individual creative care that I have received at Stuido Mac on a continuing basis. This is an the ongoing experience each time at Studio Mac and not just the intial visit. I have left Studio Mac each time with color that is amazing and a cut that is contemporary and easy to manage myself. The compliments I have received from family and friends as well as my own comfort level with styling my hair keeps me coming back even as the gas prices are approaching the cost of my vist. I highly recommmend a visit to Studio Mac. although I persnally wouldn't have anyone touch my hair now except Cathy (You know the feeling), Rebecca is also a very talented hairstylist as I have seen her clients transformed before my eyes! I must also mention the refreshing, personable, love to copy her hair styles Caitlin who is the receptionist and esthetician and a live model of her talents. About 6 years ago, one of my bosses came back from a hair salon appointment and her hair looked gorgeous. I especially liked how the back of her hair looked. It had lift and body at the crown of her head and overall the hairstyle she had was just stunning. A very flattering style. more

I have been with Studio Mac for years and wouldn't even consider going anywhere else. I drive a long way and will always be faithful to the salon. I am always changing my hair (color and cut) and like a little bit of a funky edge - Cathy is so creative and awesome - I never leave the salon unhappy. I have gotten numerous compliments on the quality of my haircut and the beauty of the color. I've been a faithful Studio Mac customer for several years and Cathy and her amazing staff have seen me through numerous different cuts and colors; all executed with the highest levels of talent and professionalism. Cathy is a true innovator, highly trained, and an absolute visionary. She knows all of the nuances of her business and, what's more, cares deeply for all of her customers and regards their happiness and satisfaction highly. Even when I was in college and couldn't afford to maintain my hair as I do now, Studio Mac always welcomed me without any of the gripes that you get from other salons about consistency or treating me like a second class citizen. Even when my hair was ravaged they were NEVER preachy and in fact have spent extra time and energy on healing my hair, often going beyond my scheduled time, just because they care. The Salon has a friendly yet indulgent atmosphere, from the time you sit down, you are greeted with a warm beverage (try the mint hot chocolate!) and welcoming comments from all staff members, even a first timer can't help but feel like family. Cathy and her staff are so knowledgeable that my highlights are angled in such a way that my roots appear barely noticeable when my next appointment comes around. Love it! It angers me to see negative comments posted on here as I know there is no way they could be from ANY Studio Mac customer, it's sad when people can't respect others expertise and success. I have recommended the salon to many people over the years and have heard only rave results, in fact, my friend sees the only high point of her moving back to CT from FL is that she'll get to have Cathy do her hair! I myself have moved and now drive in 2 hrs. from New York just for Studio Mac, I won't let anyone else touch my hair. Oh my gosh! What an amazing salon. I saw Cathy the owner and she mad me look like a whole new woman, how hot new woman! This was my first time there, and the whole staff made me feel like I had been going there for years. Cathy was outstanding! I showed her what I wanted and she was completely honest with me. Plus she made me look amazing. I don't think I will ever go to another salon again. I feel so beautiful and I feel like I can do anything I want! This is just from an amazing cut and color! I LOVE THIS SALON!!!! I enjoy having different hairstyles and having drastic changes once in a while. this Salon has stylists that are not afraid to give you something new, edgy, beautiful and fun, but with the greatest professionalism and technique. They are also not afraid to tell you what looks good on you in terms of cuts and colors. I always feel special, and have never felt like I was rushed out (some places do.) I have been a client at Studio Mac for the past year or so and I am very proud to say that I would never go to another salon. I have had the great oppurtunity to be treated like a client should be treated with both respect and loyalty. The staff at Studio Mac are professional and courteous. The owner's very up-to-date with all of the hair styles and and techniques and I feel very comfortable trying new things. I am very pickey when it comes to my hair and I take great PRIDE with the style and color of my hair and it's with great pleasure to add this review. Cathy, the owner, single handedly rescued my hair after a horrendous home dying attempt. I will not trust my hair to anyone else, other people have colorists, I call her my Color Artist. When you are in the chair it is all about you and what you want, right down a fabulous selection of herbal teas and gourmet coffees. They do extensive research on all of the latest styles and processes, travelling frequently to conferences and seminars, and they only use top quality products. Book ahead of time and you will not be disappointed. They also carry Bed Head cosmetics and have a make up artist on-site, who is an absolute doll. It's a one stop salon. I don't know what Belthzar was thinking, but I just got to experience Studio Mac Salon. I Look Gorgeous, I feel gorgeous. I was recommended Studio Mac by a co-worker and I booked an appointment with the owner Cathy. She was so sweet and helpful, she put a certain sparkle in the atmosphere in the Salon. Happened upon this salon after seeing a colleague arrive at work with exceptional hair color and a very flattering cut. Went for my first appointment almost two years ago and I have been there ever since! The stylists are so talented! People I haven't seen in ten years say I look younger than when they saw me last! The staff is welcoming and the salon provides reminder calls to help you remember your appointment. I am so happy I found this quality salon so close to home! The absolute worst salon I've even been into. My normal hairdresser was on vacation, so I decided to stop in for a trim to get me through. What a mistake. One of the owners did my hair.......not talent what so ever....left looking like a freak! I was under the impression that they were some how affilitated with MAC, inc. but no, they only ripped off the name. If you value how you look, stay away! Was visiting from New York and needed a Haircut and Color. One of my collegue's had suggested Studio Mac, It was outstanding.Talent matches some of the salons in the big apple without the intense prices. Very chic atmosphere and pampered quality.
