Dena is by far the best stylist/colorist I've ever gone to. She has been cutting and coloring my hair for about 4 years now and I will not go to any else ever again. She always takes time to talk with you about exactly what you want, and she never fails to get the exact color and cut that I ask for. My hair is blonde and very long and has been colored many times and she always manages to make it look healthier than when I came in. She recommends MoroccanOil for people with highlighted hair, and that product is the BEST. Definitely recommend their shampoo, conditioner and styling products. more

Dena Kuhns is an AWESOME hair colorist/stylist!!! She is the best colorist/stylist that I have ever found! Sheis personable, professional and just does an AWESOME job!!! I just had my hair done by Devon yesterday and she is amazzzzzing! She started out by styling my hair for my wedding 6 months ago--and I loved it-- and I have been back to her ever since. She is great because she takes the time to really look at your hair and examine its health. She really focuses in on a cut that will look good for your hair. I have never had someone spend the time thinking about my hair the way Devon does. She also gave me fabulous color. I just read a review saying that someone didn't like her color and I almost can't believe it because I went in asking for richness and a caramel color and that is exactly what I got and I totally love it! If you are looking for someone new, Devon is it! I also love going into the salon because it is in the Pearl and I always feel like I am treating myself to something special when I go in there. more

This was my 3rd cut and color with Devon at Studio Luxe. Its a beautiful salon and has a great atmosphere. All the stylists are super friendly. Devon made me feel very comfortable and knew exactly what I wanted. She is a great colorist, it looks so natural! She gave me some lowlights and carmel colored highlights for fall. I love the new cut and couldn't be happier. She even added a few feather hair extensions to complete my new look! I can't even begin to tell you how many compliments I have received. Laura Huckfeldt is THE BEST hair stylist I've been with for the last 7yrs! I've been following her for years and have not been disappointed with any of my hair cuts. She works with ALL kinds of hair, especially coarse dry hair types. My hair texture is like horse mane (I'm Asian), its very straight, dry & coarse so its really hard to have layers that don't look choppy or uneven. Laura always manage to makes my layers blend in very well and looking natural. It is very hard to find someone that can do this, so when you find one you want to follow them. I've had a lot of bad experiences in my life so i don't dare go to anyone else. more

I just purchased the groupon for studio luxe and had my first experience with this great salon. I used my groupon for a brazillian wax, which I have done often, and this was the BEST by far. Candice was so professional and quick and by the time I was able to think about the pain, it was over. I also had a consultation and bang trim with Rosie and felt very confident that she knows what she is doing. Can't wait to go back and and get pampered. Thanks groupon!! Found a new fav...... more

I had a facial with Candice at Studio Luxe and LOVED it. I'm new to Portland and was looking for a hairstylist, so I asked Candice for a recommendation. She highly recommended a stylist named Devon, who had a few minutes available after I was finished with my facial appointment, and who talked to me about my hair and what I wanted done with it. To make a long story short, I've now been to see Devon twice in the past week --- and I'm frustrated and angry by the current color and condition of my hair! My hair is longish, mid way down my back, and I have babied it for the past 3 years to keep it healthy. It had lightened over the summer and the color didn't have depth anymore. I asked for a ""Caramel"" color, which we discussed at length and agreed that this would be a mixture of light brown and red. Instead, I came away with _hideous_ white blonde chunks of color all over the crown of my head. We're not talking highlights, here: Devon clearly doesn't have a clue what she's doing with color. The bleach that she used did so much damage that I now have break-away hair all around my face!!! I used to wear my hair pulled back and it looked really sleek because it was long enough to go into a pony tail. Now my hair looks tired and frazzled because there's so many spikey ends sticking out everywhere! Today I went back so that Devon could ""correct"" the color. She had said to me that there was just a miscommunication and that she (now) knew what I was looking for. I again asked for a caramel color, explained I didn't want to be blonde, and that I was looking for a light brown with red highlights. My hair is a very flat dark brown all over with a bizarre copper tinge to it. It's awful, and I suspect that within a few weeks it's going to be really brassy looking! Since the damage that has been done can't be repaired, and I don't want to further damage my hair by having it colored AGAIN, I guess I'm stuck with it! The cut was adequate, the color is awful, and the services are THE MOST EXPENSIVE I've ever been charged! I wouldn't recommend Devon at Studio Luxe to my least favorite person. . . . more

I have been getting my hair done by Laura Huckfeldt for ten years now. She is amazing and by far the most talented hair stylist I have ever had the pleasure of going to. I highly recommend considering her. She is professional and a lovely person all around. There isn't a time I have ever left with a huge grin on my face. Her prices are unbeatable to. Devon's been cutting my hair for years now and there's not another pair of shears that are allowed near these locks. Given the fact that I have a bunch of cow licks on my head and super thick hair, I've had a lot of bad haircuts over the years, bet Devon's been doing me right for a long time now. She's quick. She's skilled. And she's super sweet and easy to talk to. It's nice to get a great haircut and some free therapy once a month. I'd recommend Devon to anyone and do often. more

I'm challenged with the thinnest hair imaginable, and it's never been easy for me to find someone who has the ability to give me the look I want, but Laura makes me look like a movie star, and not just after leaving the salon. Months after a cut, my hair still looks as fabulous as the day I left! She listens to what I hate about my hair, and makes me LOVE it!!!! I wouldn't know what to do without her!!! more

Devon is great! I was lucky enough to find her a little over a year ago. I had been going to a larger salon in Portland and always felt like the sylists never really cared about you. They would even try to convince you your hair looked good when you didnt like it! But when I found Deven it was different. Every time I get a cut from her its exactly what Im asking for and more. It amazing how in tune she is with what your asking and can deliver every time! She truly cares about you leaving happy with your hair. I would just stop looking around the city for a great thoughtful sylist and go straight to Devon you wont be disappointed! And who can beet a beer or glass of wine while getting your hair done too! hey there, Just went to my favorite salon in Portland's pearl district. Candace did an awesome waxing. She is so good. I also had a wonderful, nurturing pedicure by Mai. This is a new service and I highly recommend it. Mai does an excellent job at pampering you. Love it. Of course I can't not mention the very supreme stylist of all, Karen, whom I have followed from magnum opus to Salon 77 to finally the great Studio Luxe itself. She is definitely a pro at transforming hair into something incredible. I love her! Go Candace and Karen. A colorist I should of quit a long time ago fried my hair but Nickol did wonders to fix it....she worked late to get me in...I came in close to tears and left with a smile on my face and smooth beautiful hair.
