Streamliner Diner

Agree with the others that the wait can be slow but the staff is super friendly and patient with kids. They have good comfort food and my favorite is the biscuits and gravy. Would be nice if they added a kids play area. more

We had our dog with us so the only option for us was to sit out on their patio. It's a small patio with three tables which seat a max of 3 people each. so we waited a little while before we were seated. Other reviews seem to indicate that weekends often have long wait lines so I considered this normal Once seated however, it took nearly 20 minutes before we had a server approach us to take our order. Since the ferry comes on the half hour on sundays, a load of newcomers came up the sidewalk and the staff had a sudden inflow of customers. These were seated inside promptly and I noticed from my outdoor seat that they were receiving service. We were somewhat forgotten. I had to wave my hand to get the waitresses attention (it didn't seem like there was a designated wait staff for the patio). when we did get the order in, the food came otu promptly but maybe too promptly because my potatoes were on the hard and uncooked side. However, my fried egg sandwich was quite good. I tried the dishes of the other members at the table (my sister and boyfriend -- so it was ok :) ) and their dishes were quite good. My boyfriend had their potato salad and he said it was quite good. This is a good choice to eat on Bainbridge Island but if you are limited on time then this may not be the best option. the food is good but it's not the best breakfast \ brunch food I've ever had. more

Certainly true that this place has long wait. But there are quite few open tables. Small patio outside. On a sunny weekend, patio seating require longer wait. Food portions are generous. Local favorite, and the reputation has gotten out. Visitors are packing this place too. Omlettes and Biscuits/gravy are popular dishes. Definitely check this place out. Then drop by Cafe Nola and maybe grab some ice cream from Mora. more

There always seems to be a waiting list on the weekends.Iwouldn't let that keep you from havin the best breakfast ever.It's fun to watch the cooks.And the waitstaff rushing around with smiles on their faces,know matter how busy it is. The foods great and the atmosphere is fun!! more

I try to eat there at least once a week. I've had just about everything on the menu now, and they haven't disappointed me yet. the food is great and the baked goods are grand. just don't bring your credit card. more

Someone mentioned brunch places on Bainbridge, this is indeed the perfect Seattle outing as long as it is nice. Take the ferry out to Bainbridge. Walk on and its easy. Then, take a stroll through the park and get to the Streamline Diner. Its a classic breakfast place. We have their cookbook which is awesome, but big muffins, homemade quiche, its the b0mb! more

The Streamliner Diner is a short walk away from the ferry terminal, if you're not from Bainbridge Island. The food is excellent, offering a good choice of omelettes and some unique breakfast fare. Make sure you get a biscuit, and smother it with the raspberry jam. They are open for lunch too, but I have not had the opportunity. more
