Streamline Plumbing

The technician came out was very clean and neat in appearance. The valve on the side of the water heater was leaking a steady drip. Our water heater was 10 years old and he explained why it was better to replace than repair. Not servicing your water heater causes sediment to build up from the bottom - should he try to replace the valve threads could strip or it could leak. He did actually try to remove the valve and the threads around the valve were corroded and stripped away. They did a great job for us. more

I called and paid the $69 fee to have someone take a look at my hot water heater. I wanted help diagnosing a leaky T&P valve vs. gas control valve. I was glad to pay $69 for their time. The plumber looked at my heater for 2 minutes and then assured me it was time for a new water heater. He didn't cite any reasons other than it's 8 years old. I asked if he could test the T&P valve or just replace it or some other diagnostic and he was not interested. He replied ""umm, I don't know if we have any of those valves in the warehouse."" This wasn't an emergency and they knew this. The plumber got on the phone immediately to get a quote on the new water heater, without asking if I was interested. He then says the water heaters ""these days"" are taller. This means they would need to re-drill the gas vent on the side of my house. He assured me the standard size of a hot water heater is now different. I played along and listened to the quote he gave me: $2200 I told him I hope he holds this super-low price for me. He called into his boss and said they could do it for 30 days. I better hurry and take advantage, I can even finance through them! No thanks. I should have done it myself to begin with. My water heater went out and decided to get a tankless water heater. I have always shopped price and quality so I had done my homework when I started calling plumbers in the area. I had made about 5 calls when I called Streamline. They were professional, set a time to come out & they showed up on time. Their price was ""very"" fair, the installation was flawless and they followed up with not just a canned call about how my service experience was, they sounded like they really cared. I am in agreement with one detail in the previous reviews, these guys are very nice and courteous. But after my second experience with them I was NOT smiling. I had joined their ?Diamond Club? ($8/month) to get priority service. It included a free annual plumbing inspection. At that time I had five items that needed addressing (two leaky faucets, one toilet plugged often, two other toilets with small leaks). Their annual inspection took about 20 minutes. In that time they did not fix any of the problems I had identified to them; instead they gave me a list of ?recommended repairs? (mostly replacements) that cost upwards of $1000. I called a second plumber in for an opinion. He inspected my plumbing and fixed everything for under $150. Pros: Friendly and courteous Cons: Tried to sell me replacements I didn't need. more

This is the second time I've used Streamline, and I must say they're consistently good. I called at 9am, they promptly came at the early part of the 2-hour window they estimated, and as of 3pm, my problem was solved. They answer the phone, ""How can we make you smile today?"" They have a list of set prices they show you in advance, before starting the work (which I like). They charge a fee of $59 just to show up, and then charge additional set rates at intervals from $150-750 depending on the job. The last time they came to fix the water heater...it was just under $300, and this time there were a few small items to fix, and it came to $200. He showed up in uniform and wore booties so he didn't mess up my floors. He also patiently answered all of my questions, which I greatly appreciated. The only down side is you should expect to pay a minimum of $200 for a service call. I recently had some plumbing/drain problems and a colleague recommended Streamline Plumbing. I have been burned by almost every service industry (HVAC, Painters, Carpet installers, etc) - so I dreaded that I needed a plumber. I started out with pure skepticism & negativity, but that soon changed. I had a pleasant, productive experience from start to finish. From the person who answered the phone, to the man who showed up on my doorstep (on time) - I found all to be professional, super friendly and most surprisingly, honest! They came dressed for corporate casual Friday (no dirty plumber's cr**k to be seen!), which was a surprise! they covered their shoes when entering my home, they thoroughly explained & showed me the repairs that were needed and why (in laymen terms), they recommended a DYI website that was informative and they even followed up with a phone call a week later to make sure there was no reoccurrence of my problem.
