I love this Country Max. It is the only place nearby that I can get quality dog food (not that junk sold at the grocery store). I love their selection of pet foods, toys, treats, ect. I can't wait to see their new location too, \r \r Also I would like to add that the conditions of the animals at this store have been nothing more than standard to any other pet store I have been in, if not better. The people who work there are informed and helpful in so many ways. Also, their prices can't be beat ANYWHERE!!! THIS store is perfectly fine. They carry lots of variety and some darn good dog foods. Maybe it's not the prettiest place, not every store is modern and professionally designed, but I'd rather shop here for my pet needs. They carry things that most other stores don't.\r Maybe the fish aren't in tanks as pristine as at home, but as far as I've seen, they're all in perfectly fine condition. The birds & critters have been happy when I've been in there. I honestly can't agree with anything that ""non-customer"" said.\r As for the employees...I'd rather deal with them than any employee I've come across at one of the big box pet stores. While they may not know everything they certainly do know how to go about finding an answer.\r \r Pros: easy and convenient and they pretty much always have what I need. Cons: I think they carry tarantulas which freaks me out! more

Our local Country Max store has a great variety of pet foods and feeds; farm & garden supplies; and the associates there have always been able to answer my questions, or will find the answer for me. The pets there ARE well cared for, I've never seen the conditions that ""noncustomer"" described in his/her review. I've been a customer at Country Max since 1999 and have always been happy with the cleanliness, customer service, animals feeds and other products I've bought there. I would and HAVE recommended this store to my friends and family.\r \r Pros: convenient parking, great location, wonderful customer service and quality Cons: hard to get there before they close after work (during the week) more

I have never seen animals kept in such deplorable conditions. I will take my business elsewhere. \r The fish tanks are filthy and contain ich-ridden fish, the birds hardly have perches (some don't) and they have no enrichment. The exotic reptiles and turtles are kept in improper conditions. \r \r Not only would I not shop here, but I would be embarrassed to be associated with the store. The employees were clueless. I'm pretty sure the birds were more intelligent than they were. When approached about the conditions their animals were kept in the employees were ignorant and didn't change any issues while I was present. \r \r The store should be shut down for it's dismal environment.
