We ended up at this vineyard not quite by accident, but it wasn't a scheduled part of our trip in Connecticut. We were trying to find our way back to the interstate and saw signage for Stonington Vineyards and decided "why not?".
We pulled in, and were the only people there. Which was surprising since it was 3:00 on a Saturday. I would have thought they'd have been busier. It was $5 to sample 6 wines. They were tasty, but as is often the case up here, the reds were disappointing in my opinion. I think it's the climate, but I don't think the red grapes get enough of something they need to turn out a good wine. I thought they were a little overpriced for what they offered, in terms of wine sales, but I would love to purchase another bottle of their reserve Chardonnay.
There is a small showroom, and plenty of parking. I don't think "too busy" is ever a problem here. The driveway is dirt and gravel so go VERY SLOWLY when entering the lot.
