Stonehouse Stable

I have been to many barns in this area and Stonehouse Stables is far above the rest. The Teaching staff is full of friendly, knowledgeable women. The facilities, fields and driveway are in excellent conditions. The Virginia Gazette has had numerous articles on the how well the Stonehouse Stables barn has been doing at horse shows. I have been very pleased and happy with everything I have experienced at this great barn. Check out the website and if you are close by take a look for yourself. I have heard from a few people that Stonehouse Stables reputation hasn't been very good in the past few years, but I decided to stop by. I was looking for a new place to board my horse. I pulled up to a gravel driveway full of potholes and giant mud puddles. There were lots of little kids there and seemed like it had a pretty active schooling program. I walked in and the barn staff was very friendly. I went into the office and met the operations manager who seemed to be clueless. As I walked around the facilities I noticed that all the fields had giant mud puddles by all the gates. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to swim to bring my horse in. The barn looked like it needed some major repairs. Then as I left, I noticed that the ring was really dusty! Lets just say I went someplace else and was very glad I didn't up up there. Stonehouse Stables is THE BEST!!! I go there every saturday, sunday, and sometimes wednesday. I can't get enough. I am a true horse lover. There staff is very reliable and always trying to help! If you have a problem or a question they are there to help. The office is delightful. It has a lounge, T.V, computer. and a window so you can look right at the ring! I started riding when I was 7 and I went to them first. There rival, carton farms, are there just to get there paycheck. Stonehouse on ther other hand loves horses and doesn't care how much they get. They also don't yell at you like carton farms does. I when there one time with my friend, and they didn't even let me lead the horses to the mounting block! Stonehouse welcomes all people! Sometimes they will even let your friend walk the horses around he track! My friend was amazed when she came to stonehouse and swiched right to them. She says,"" I've never had so much fun with horses!"" next door there is another barn called Ceder Valley. We are there friends and let them share our trails with us.(when we are not on them) I would also recommend Ceder Valley as well as Stoneouse Stables. They are TRULEY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
