Stitched Specialties

I am a person that is not easily impressed, and I am also a person that doesn't usually write a review unless it's a must, but when I saw the review by JK2272 I had to respond. I have been taking all of my alterations to stitch specialist for at least 7 years now and I have never been disappointed; they have always been polite, always on time, and their prices are very reasonable. They have done all of my hems for dress slacks, hidden hem for my daughters dance costume (which I was completely shocked that it even had a stitch, not to mentioned could be taken out and lengthened as she grew!). I have also had these guys patch and sew numerous expensive designer ""distressed"" jeans that had previously taken the department store I by them from over a month to repair. These guys did it within a week, a fraction of the time, and the quality of work and artistic flare made them even more sturdy and still fashionable. more

I took my first item to Stitched Specialties last week and was NOT disappointed. I had neighbors refer me there, and my dad has had suits altered there as well. They were quick about their work, and knew exactly what to do about my item. I took in a sweater dress I had ordered online (which turned out to be far too long), and the work was great. There are vertical stripes on the dress, and those stripes are still perfectly straight with the new bottom they added to the dress. Seriously, this place is awesome. more

I have MULTIPLE pairs of jeans/pants in to either be hemmed or taken in (too much flair, bell bottom for me) and they are always on time and the clothing always turns out perfectly! I've also had jeans with a 'fancy edge' hemmed (the cost is a little more for that) and they turned out GREAT! I disagree with JK2242 as all of my items were dropped off in small qty (maybe 1 or 2 pairs of pants at a time) and they have always been on time. I can't say enough good things about this company! They're always nice, helpful and the work they produce is fantastic! more

I love Stitched Specialties.... They are professional and their work is completely flawless.. They have great pricing, they are fast and always treat me as if I were family every time I go in. Terrible at keeping deadlines. They don't call you to tell you if something has come up that will prevent completion of your job by the necessary deadline. Smaller jobs get terribly neglected for larger jobs, even if smaller job came in first. Had to wait nearly 2 months for something that would only take 30 minutes (or less) to sew. I had to do my own follow up with this company just to make sure my job was being done in a timely fashion and not being neglected. They still missed my deadline. Staff was rude and not empathetic to my needs. They refused to make any exception to speed up my job even though my job had already been pushed out 5 weeks (3 weeks AFTER deadline). ... they had originally promised completion of my job within 2 weeks after I brought it to them. I did business with this company 5 different times within the past 9 months, and each time, I had these problems. I was very nice and courteous with this business in all my dealings with them, and they still treated me poorly. I would never recommend this business. I was very happy with the service and price at Stitched Specialties. I brought in my wedding dress which needed to have quite a bit of alteration done on it, and they had it done in a week (they told me before I came in that I should estimate two weeks). When I was told the price I thought it was a mistake--it seemed too low. Also, when I came in for the second fitting there were a couple of seams that needed to be taken in just a bit, and they got it done for me in ten minutes while I waited. It looks great, and I couldn't be more pleased! Pros: Fast service, great pricing, job well done more

I'm a shorty and so I often need alterations on my clothes. Stitched Specialties always does a great and timely job. Plus the pricing is cheaper than other alteration places I've been to.
