Great Small Animal Sitting Service.. 9/25/2008

I have two ferrets and Jo-Ann has been taking care of them for the last eight years.\r \r Very caring and loving to my pets.\r \r I disagree with the other review from paul1210.\r Reason is I work for Jo-Ann now and know for a fact that the review was written base on another point.\r \r That point is that Jessica D. who is paul 1210 works for Maid Pro, in which myself and Jo-Ann use their service. We did not know that she work for this company. Until she sent an email asking Jo-Ann to accept her gift certificate for bad work done on her house and to re write the review on Maid Pro.\r \r In her review she says she knows about small business sorry she does not own this company she works for it.\r \r To make a long story short Jo-Ann and myself use their service several times and to no avail they never clean using a mop, water etc, The price for dong nothing ninety dollars. In which Jessica gave Jo-Ann a $10.00 gift certificate and myself I got a rude call from the manager that he could not return my money for bad service.\r \r Instead of Jessica bein upset about what happen at her place of work and using it on our service it that should of been betwenn us personally not the business. \r \r And to let you know Jo-Ann gave the gift certifcate to the MSPCA.\r \r I suggest give us a call try us out, I am one of the vet techs that works for her and I am also a part owner as of October 2008. \r \r We expect to get a bad reviews that is part of the business but to get a review becauce a person is upset over another issue does not make any sense.\r \r \r \r We have been in business for eleven years in the Massachuesetts area and 5 years in Brooklyn NYC (warehouse only for buyers).\r \r more

Great cat sitting, bad customer service 6/24/2008

Finding pet sitting can be stressful. I called and got a call back within a few hours. Once you set it up, they then have the available sitter come to your house to meet you and your pets. I got a sitter named Jaimie who is fantastic! She came to my house at 6pm the next day and met with me for one hour! I filled out paper work and give her my key . She met my cats, I gave her instructions and showed her where things were. \r I called Jaimie once while I was gone and she chatted with me about everything. Then when I got home, she left a long note and a thank you. It was so wonderful to feel my cats were in good hands and that I could trust a stranger to be in my house. \r \r \r UPDATE: I scheduled a service with them for June 20th and 21st. I requested the 20th in the evening and the 21st in the AM. I received an email from the owner saying, ""I spoke to Jaimie on June 20 she can only do evenings she is at work."" Well, I requested the 20th in the PM anyway, so I said that was fine. There was zero mention of the 21st, so I assumed it was all set.\r Fast forward: Nobody showed up to my house on the 21st. I called and they said that the schedule was for evening. As you can see from above, I requested the AM and there was no mention of that changing. Only the 20th was mentioned. They refused to give me a credit since I ""cancelled"" before 24 hours.\r Now, I understand she has policies and should stick to them. I respect that. But she wouldn't acknowledge that she was not clear in her communication or apologize for the misunderstanding. She wouldn't even acknowledge that there was a misunderstanding. \r As someone who works with small businesses, I know that this was a horrible practice of customer service. She could have easily retained my business with a credit or even an acknowledgment that she made a mistake in her correspondence to me. Pros: Jaimie, my cat sitter was excellent and kind. Cons: The owner displays very bad customer service and can be quite rude more

Very happy with cat sitting service 8/9/2007

We've only used Stinky's for the cat sitting service which we've been very happy with. Jo-Ann at Stinky's is incredibly flexible and always leaves us a note when cat-sitting about how things went. Also, the rates are very reasonable. I'd definitely recommend Stinky's if you need a pet-sitter. Pros: Flexibility, good customer service, reasonable rates more

Great place, great price 7/8/2007

I have a skittish dog who had never been to the groomers before, and decided to bring her to this place mostly because the location is convenient for me. I brought my dog in to have the groomer see her and give me an estimate of how much a basic grooming would cost, and it was lower than any other place I had called ($40). I had explained to the groomer that my dog was nervous around a lot of people and other dogs, and she suggested that we book an appointment when there were no other dogs around for her first few times, to make her as calm as possible. She was also really good with my dog (which I suppose comes with working with them all day) and my dog responded really well to her. It was easy to get an appointment, and she did indeed book my dog for a quiet time slot when there were no others in the shop. My dog has a very thick coat and sheds constantly, so the groomer said that she would try and thin out her hair a bit to make her more comfortable in the heat and maybe decrease the shedding a little bit. The appointment took 90 minutes, and when I picked my dog up she looked great. I don't know how the groomer did it, but the dog's coat still looked the same (as I had asked for), but you could tell it had been sheared a bit and her thick furry undercoat was amazingly thinner. And, miracles of miracles, I have noticed a significant reduction in the shedding since I brought her home, and even brushing her today was easier and there was less fur coming off. She also doesn't look so pathetically miserable in my non-air-conditioned apartment. And the cost was such a great deal: $35 for the bath, haircut, nails, and glands (for my 25-pound dog, I'm sure different rates apply to different dogs). I am so happy I decided to take her there; they definately made me and my dog really happy. Pros: Great groomer, great rates more
