3/2009: After having my hair butchered at a local spa, I had a consultation & then haircut and color with Amanda at Stilleto. She was honest about color (I was flip-flopping between 2 choices) and listened to what I wanted to end up with ... and this is the best part - actually did it!
I am VERY impressed with how the cut was done. She kept the length (I was growing it out) and the cut was done in a way that flattered my wavy hair. The price was the same that I've paid just about everywhere here.
5/2011:
I had been going to Stiletto for all of my hair needs through 2009/2010. In 2010, I moved & just came back to the area recently.
I am sad to say that the quality of haircut service has gone down while price has gone up. I don't know if Amanda is overbooked or what, but it seemed rushed the last two times I visited. I told her that the last cut didn't seem to be right, but she didn't address my concerns. I could tell something was off in the newest cut, and when I went to another stylist to get it touched up a few weeks later, he immediately noticed that the layers weren't even. To add to my dissatisfaction, I had made an appointment to change my color at Stiletto, and yes, I forgot to call and cancel, which is impolite of me (though if there had been a reminder call, I would've canceled then), and she called to see if I was going to come in or wanted to reschedule.. when I said that I wasn't going to reschedule at this time, she hung up on me!
So, I am giving Stilleto a ""3"". I had a 5-star first experience in 2009, but a 2-star experience in 2011. I won't be going back.
Pros: Competent stylists
Cons: Small, location
