I discovered this place by accident, late one night, coming out of the Maritime. They have ordinary ny style pizza - but it's done right. Lot's' basil in the sauce, very cheesy with a light crispy crust. I've lived and worked in Chelsea for years and they have the best slice in the neighborhood. Fennel sausage is my favorite slice. Delicious. The place is tiny and at lunch it can be crowded, but they're fast and the guys are nice. Good luck getting a seat, there's like five stools. Recently I had a pie and a salad delivered and I'd forgotten that they use plum tomato and very nice gaeta olives in the salad... i was nicely surprised. Sure beats the salads from Chelsea Sqaure or the Dish. Plus they have these five dollar off coupons... rock on Stella's Pizza.
Pros: great great slices. high qualtiy- with lots of fresh basil in the sauce and a nice crispy crust.
Cons: on the last sketchy block in chelsea. tiny-thougth the place is clean and cheery and sort of retro.
