We go frequently, and unfortunately, will not be going back. Last night was not only disappointing, but very frustrating. The only thing that went right was the valet guys did a great job at parking my car. The manager was extremely accommodating and did all he could to ensure we left on a good note, but you don't pay that kind of money for a Chili's experience. more

Literally amazing! I recently went for Valentine's Day, and they had great V-Day specials. The standard menu is great too. I've twice had their New Orleans style Mahi Mahi, and it melts in your mouth. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place for a special occasion or just for a regular dinner. Oh, and the view is incredible. Great views of Lake Travis with the hillsides and beautiful at sundown. more

nice looking place, but I was there with a party of 10 and our service was HORRIBLE. Once we did get our food ( my steak was not medium rare, not even close) it was cold. I even think if it was hot it wouldnt of tasted that good anyway. I didnt want to send it back because I was starving and coudnt wait another 45 minutes. Getting a drink was another task, All I has was beer, and it took forever to get it . Too may good steak places in Ausitn to blow $150 buck on, not here. Wanting a special evening we went to the Steiner Steakhouse for 1st time. Beautiful location, the facility is perfect. Relaxing music - what an evening it could have been. The ""nice"" young waitress took our drink order - just fine. She came back for dinner order and rattled off items not on the menu apparently. She spoke very fast, neither of us could understand half what she said. We ordered the prime rib (which sounded delicious) medium rare, specificing we wanted pink with a little red. Both orders came back well done. I asked her to bring one more rare. She brought back one that was medium - no pink. It went downhill from there. No sugar for the coffee. No refills until time to leave. The desert with ice cream was melted. Getting the waitress' attention for anything was very difficult. We had read reviews of the mediocre food but decided to keep an open mind and try SRS for ourselves because the weather was gorgeous and we were looking forward to great views. Unfortunately, our low food expectations were met --- the steaks are really, really bad, especially for the $30-40 per steak price point. They claim the beef is prime, and perhaps it is, but the steaks suffer from both butchering and cooking problems. Our $38 14 oz NY strip steaks were undercooked (rare instead of medium rare); the meat was tough and full of gristle. Over half of the steak was inedible because of the gristle. (Good marbleing is fantastic; excessive gristle is gross.) The standard side of mashed potatoes tasted as though they were out of a box --- no creaminess, no flavor. The asparagus was limp and also lacked flavor. We had also ordered two appetizers: The beef toranados were tough and accompanied by bland pico and sad, old greens. The queso was better but still on the bland side. We also ordered cocktails, which were very tasty, and wine, which was from an uninspired and overpriced (400% markup) but solid list. Our total bill for 2 was $300, including tip. This did not include desserts or salads. Pros: Great vibe, service, views, live music Cons: mediocre, overpriced food more

OK- here is the deal. I live in steiner so going here is really easy . However, If you plan to drop 2 Bills on dinner and you want the full on steak house experience i suggest eating at Eddie V's,Three Forks,hands down . If you are cool with OKservice then get on it. Not for me though. The waiters are not professional and much is lacking in that department. For instance, if you don't mind waiting five minutes for a steak knife after your 40 dollar filet is served hot then you will be ok here. If you have a higher standard then reconsider. The food is actually decent but not as good as Ruth Chris or Three Forks. The view is SPECTACULAR and the outdar bar scene is great. If that is meaningful then you need to check it out. If i am choosing restaurants in Steiner then i would go to Fion's vs. SRSH 9 out of 10 times. Beautiful views of the lake, fun crowd at the bar, delicious fine-dining, live music and Texas hospitality! What more can you ask for?! more
