I love Steele Creek twice now they have diagnosed two of my dogs when my regular vet didn't get the diagnosises right on either of them.

I just moved to the Steele Creek area. I called and set and appt for my kitten (Larry)for his first check up. They gave him 2 shots and held him. I was there over an hour and a half, and they had the nerve to charge me $172.00 I am very angry and I will never go there. If you would like to run a company in the high rent part of town and you want to have a over paid staff that is ok. Just don't bend me over and take my hard earned money to pay for your pour decisions! VERY VERY HGH PRICED FOR VERY LITTLE SERVICE! I have already and will continue to tell everyone I know not to go there! Stay away VERY HIGH PRICED! more

Do not take your pets here! 8/24/2011

I have been a client for over 6 years but no more! The level of care has gone down while the prices are through the roof! They charge outrageous amounts of money for their services that I have now found are very much out of line with other clinics in the area. That would be tolerable if I thought that my dogs were receiving the best of care. My experience has been that they are more interested in 'churning' billable procedures than they are in giving the best care, and I agree that their staff is disinterested, rude, and evasive when you try to get someone to give you a straight answer on a charge on a bill. I took my dog for an annual check up where additional tests were recommended to diagnose a new heart murmur. After looking more closely at my huge bill later when I got home, I found a $40 charge TO CHECK A BLOOD PRESSURE! When I called back to the clinic for an explanation, all I got was 'so-and-so will call you back'. After playing phone tag for over a week to speak with someone with the authority to tell me why they were charging me that, I finally gave up. ( which I think was their plan in the first place!) DONT TAKE YOUR PETS NEAR THIS PLACE! more

Great Results with accupunture and care 5/17/2011

Took our dog black lab to see Dr. Hutmaker!.. Our dog was experiencing a serious imbalance problem, the poor girl kept literally flipping over. As medical situations go, this is not an easy one to cure because it basically has to settle itself out. HOWEVER Dr. H and the team at Steele Creek suggested accupunture. The results were amazing and the dog really liked the experience....I'm not kidding. We had to wheel the poor girl in because she could not come in on her own power............she walked out after the treatment (OK, like a drunk but walking). We did two additional treatments with great results. Today she is doing great. It is true what is listed in the other post as it relates to the cost for care here. That is why they did not recieve 5 stars. more

Steele Creek Animal Hospital is awesome 7/8/2009

We have been going to Steele Creek animal Hospital for 8 years and have always gotten the best care for my cat and dog. It is so convenient that you can drop the animals off and pick them up at a time convenient for you. more

Not Reccomended 4/25/2008

I agree with the previous review except for the fact that each time I take my dog, the bill seems to be conveniently over $300.00. Last fall I asked that two presriptions be refilled, the medice had worked and I had run out. I was told the doctor couldn't re-prescribe without another examination...quite probably another $300.00. I came away with the impression that this place is in it for only the money. By the way, the medicine was not a critical one, in other words, no harm would have been done had it been incorrect. I would never take my dog back. more
