A landmark in Los Gatos 10/30/2010

Since the old days across the street in Old Town, this place has been a landmark in Los Gatos. It has a fierce following, and has earned it! Offering more fish selections than any place n LG, the well kept decor and tasty mussels is a must for this fish lover. Service is good, and your can tell the servers have been there a while and developed relationships with the patrons. Highly recommended. more

Dress to Impress 6/23/2010

This place has an excellent seafood menu, if you can afford their prices. Its where the upper class of Los Gator mingle. They have a great martini selection and a spacious lounge area. Dress to impress if you come here for dinner or a drink. more

Food decent, but bland, a bit on the expensive side 3/27/2007

I've been here a couple of times for dinner and the drinks are generally good, but the portions for many of the fish dishes are small, and the salads can be on the bland side. If they spiced things up a little, and brought down the prices, might be better. more

Exceptional 5/9/2006

My husband and I, along with some friends of ours, went to Steamers one night after trying to figure out what new restaurant to try. I can't believe I didn't know of this place before. It was absolutely phenomenal! I dont normally order soup, but their clam chowder is to die for. For the main dish, I had a sweet pea and hazelnut stuffed chicken breast on the bone with creamed butternut squash and mixed sauteed root vegetables. I never order chicken when we go out, but this sounded so good! I wish words could describe how wonderful our meal was. The service was also friendly and the ambiance was perfect for a great Friday night out. I cant wait to go again! Pros: Food, Location, Service more

Fine Dining in Los Gatos 6/15/2005

This was one of the finest dining experiences I've had in the bay area. It reminded me of a first class restaurant in Manhattan. White tablecloths, knowledgeable staff and an extensive and seasonal menu. The best sea bass I've ever had anywhere. This is definitely a place for seafood aficionados to roll around and revel. This place is pricey but well worth it. more

My husband and I had a good experience here. Service was friendly, but our waiter didn't seem as knowledgeable as he should have been when asked for a wine recommendation. The ambiance was great- casual, but nice at the same time. Food was great. more

Destination 3/18/2005

Steamers is a good place for a variety of reasons: the menu; the drinks; and the ambience. I've gone many times for drinks and dinner and actually prefer the drinks and an appetizer the best. Fun place that's a bit pricey. They serve a very good mojito. more

good fish food 8/4/2002

Food was great, they do need to change menu. It's best to make reservations as it can get very busy. If you like fish this is the place to go. more

  • A South Bay favorite since 1979, Steamer's new digs feature swirling ceiling and glass details and a polished Hawaiian koa wood bar in a bright open atmosphere. The outdoor patio affords views of the Santa Cruz Mountains. The new menu combines their always-popular seafood dishes with entrees of rotisserie chicken and chops along with great steaks. Lighter fare includes fresh salads. The oyster bar provides a plentiful assortment of seafood appetizers as well as pizzas, fresh from the stone oven. Desserts are made fresh, on premises, by Steamer's pastry chef. A full bar and extensive wine list round out the menu.Locals and critics alike still say its The best place for fresh fish.
