I did perm there. The medicine they used on my hair smell like a hell and burn my skin immediately. I asked them why but they said it is common thing. I felt itchy on my head and neck all night. And I can see skin dropped off. My hair began to drop more and more since that day. That is the last place in the world I would go! Stacy was very professional and takes pride in creating a serene atmosphere for her clients. I went in for a Deluxe European facial and my face was glowing after the treatment. Overall, the experience was awesome since it was my first facial ever. Stacy made sure I felt comfortable and informed me of what's happening since I was new to this. The facial was for 75mins, but Stacy never rushed through the steps and took care of the customer first instead of hassling through an appointment if it goes over. Great customer service and care, I never felt she was skimping on the products and the massage was pretty good. Stavroula is currently having a Summer Special: facials come with free eyebrow waxing. Plus, the facial prices are lowered (the Deluxe European was originially $85, but for the summer special it was $80, plus the student discount, it comes to a total of $72). With prices this good, why not give it a try :) more

Since I moved here last year , I've been looking for someone to take care of my skin and my unruly eyebrows. I have pretty sensitive skin, problems with clogged pores, uneven skin color and pretty unruly eyebrows. I've tried everywhere on Newbury St. and the results have ranged from me looking worse or not much better. I was chatting with a friend that works in Coolidge Corner and she told me about her esthetician, Stavroula and the Ultrasonic facials she receives. I decided to be brave and call for an appointment. I wasn't sure if an Ultrasonic facial would be good for my skin, since I use some Prescription creams I get from my Dr. . I asked the receptionist to have Stavroula call me so I could ask her some questions. She got back to me the same day and was very helpful in explaining how the Ultrasonic technology works (similar technology to Ultrasonic teeth cleaning at the dentist) and how gentle it is. So far, so good! The spa was really easy to find, walking distance from the T . I was early, but her staff made me feel right at home and the waiting area was very relaxing. My appointment started with a consultation, I really learned alot about my skin and what my options were for treatments. My facial was so relaxing and gentle, I was really not expecting to see such a difference. Well, I was in for a suprise. My face looked immediately brighter, my pores looked great and it felt like baby skin! Apparently this Ultrasonic technology vibrates the water which vibrates away debris. It felt like a dull electric razor over wet skin. I also loved all of the tips Stavroula gave me on my current routine and didn't make me feel pressured when she suggested a few new things to work in. How could I forget to mention my great new Eyebrows, I have the arches I never had! I'm going back next week to have her do my makeup for my holiday party. Stavroula is the best! I usually hate going in for waxing (it's expensive, awkward, and often a long hike to a salon), but that was before I met her! She owns a georgeous skin salon in the downstairs part of Dellaria Salon in Coolidge Corner. Her prices are incredibly reasonable, she is very professional and friendly, and she makes the whole experience very enjoyable. Also, she manages to give me the least painful waxing jobs I have ever experienced! I cannot recommend her more hightly, and I am so glad to have discovered her since I moved to Brookline 5 years ago!! Go and see her!! more

I have been going to Stavroula for years now to get my eyebrows waxed. The one time I strayed from her impeccable, flawless service was to try threading. I dragged my shamed, practically nonexistent eyebrows to her and she caringly offered tips for filling them in until they grew back. Needless to say, no one else comes near my eyebrows anymore! Her facial is a rejuvenating experience. She attends to the smallest detail of your comfort and never rushes or cuts corners. I have struggled with acne forever and she always gives me great advice and recommendations - usually about products I can get at the drugstore, not a fancy overpriced cosmetic line. It takes a lot to trust someone with something as crucial as your appearance and Stavroula will absolutely help you put your best face forward - and she'll do it like she's your best friend. I really enjoyed the facial that Stavroula gave me! She made sure that I was extremely relaxed and comfortable at all times. Most times when I would get a facial, the person would put the steam on my face and then leave for half an hour. Stavroula put on this incredible mask on my face, then proceeded to give me this amazing massage. The price is right, and my face is still glowing! Located downstairs from Dellaria on Harvard Street in Brookline, Skincare by Stavroula is the best place for facials in the Boston area. I have been going there for almost a year now, and have never been disappointed. Stacy is the most caring, pampering, and professional aesthetician I have ever been to. She is a kind person and highly knowledgeable in her field, and the products she offers are top-notch. I always walk out of there looking great, no matter how I feel going in. I highly recommend her lifting facial (which includes a mask that takes years off your face) and her specialized acne treatments. Pros: Excellent service and excellent results. Cons: None. more
