We had a furnace problem and we called Thompson. The techs that came out to our house were very efficient and on time. We are very satisfied with Thompson and would recommend them...

I had a wonderful experience at Stars. I had a very friendly and helpful consultant. She really helped me find what looked great on me. I have many favorite gowns from this store. Everyone was very helpful and friendly, going out of their way to help. Wonderful wedding gown shopping experience! more

Great service! I purchased a mother of the groom dress and was there 3 times with 3 good experiences. They allowed us to try on many dresses, with one on one attention. Would recommend more

Wonderful experience 3/1/2011

I just found and purchased my dress from STARS yesterday and we had an absolutly amazing experience. Not only does STARS have a hugeeee selection to chose from but the people that work there are really great and personable. I brought my mother and 3 of my bridesmaids and the peoples at STARS made us all feel welcomed and were not only fun and personable but really listened to me when it came to what I was looking for and finding the perfect dress for me. They also give you a free garter and 15% all of your bridesmaids dresses when you buy your bridal dress there, which brought my girls dresses down by $30 which made me feel a lot better about them having to purchase a dress. I highly recommend STARS to any bride, bridesmaids or even mother of the brides! more

Excellent service 2/25/2011

I am getting married in 3 months and have had the most wonderful experience with Star. I live in California and my wedding is in Connecticut. I found my wedding gown here over a year ago and since then we have also purchased the bride's maid dresses, mother of the bride and a family member also purchased a dress for my wedding. The staff has been very accomodating to my hectic schedule of only visiting twice before the wedding for fittings and to get my veil. I highy recommned this salon. more

I'm happy with Stars! They are wonderful and friendly, and their seamstress is very sweet and talented. I bought a dress for a "destination wedding" instead of a sample or ordering one, because I figured it would be cheaper. The alterations do not cost a fortune, and I was very satisfied with my gown! It's very different, and the customer service beat the pants off of David's Bridal. more

Great shopping experience 2/9/2011

I went to Stars and had a wonderful shoppping experience. The salesperson was great, I really enjoyed working with her. She helped me choose different gowns, and took her time with me. I'm looking for a gown for my son's wedding and Stars was the first place I looked. more

I am a performer, and EVERY GOWN I have ever bought for proms, performances etc was from Stars. They are sometimes pricey-but so worth it to look your best! more

I had always thought of Stars as prom dress capitol of Farmington Valley, but I'm so thankful I followed my mother's advice to look for gowns there. They don't have the most extensive collection, but what they do have provides a very wide variety of styles and prices, which I appreciated. They respected my privacy, took into consideration my and my mother's opinions, let us spend as much time as we needed there, and allowed me to try on dresses over and over. Better yet, I was able to stop in with no notice and try on a dress I'd been thinking of a few days later. They were thoughtful and helpful, but not too "in your face" trying to make a sale. I ultimately got my gown there, and couldn't be happier with my experience. I would highly suggest recommend Stars. more

Well worth the drive to Avon 1/14/2011

Wanted to let you know that I am going to go with the beautiful red dress. I am the woman whose son is getting married in Birmingham AL on March 19th. We are on our way to GA and Birmingham this morning and will return on the 18th. Hopefully I will be able to come in on Saturday the 23rd to be measured and to place the order. I want to tell you how impressed I was with the shop and with your service. Top notch. I had already looked in Saks as well as Nordstroms and in no way did they compare to Stars of Avon. It is a haul fo rme to get to Avon but well worth the drive. more

I visited Stars during the week around 1:00PM and found the service to be friendly, honest and a very good experience. I was not looking forward to it because I wanted to be a few sizes thinner than I really am. My tension was released by Hope who was comforting and quite professional. She advised me that a 9-12 week ordering period was necessary which I understand. I could not believe the negative press! more

A little put off when we showed up unexpectadly....(answering machine message was lost/misplaced)....also a bit frosty to the prospect of groom and bride shopping together. But on the other hand...good service, flat fee alterations with three scheduled fitting sessions and a fourth thrown in free of additional charge, great merchandise, excellent, phenomenally talented, detail oriented seamstress. more

Wonderful Service!! 12/23/2010

This was the first place I went to 3 days after getting engaged, and I had a great experience! The salesperson Joanne, was so helpful, friendly and really listened to me. Stars has a lot of really affordable, beautiful dresses (check out Barbara Allin designs, if you like the look of silk chantung, starts at around $1200). The bridal salon upstairs was very neat and I think I must have tried on at least 30 dresses, and Joanne was so patient and helpful. The seamstress, Mina seems very qualified and was very sweet. I am still looking at many other salons and boutiques to check out different designers and find ""the dress"". I will be going back for a second appointment to try on 3 dresses that are still on my list. I am very picky and keep changing my mind about what kind of style dress I would like to wear on my big day, and let me tell you the associate who helped me was PATIENT ( a big plus fo me)!! more

"I was very pleased with Star's. JoAnn was my bridal consultant and helped me find the gown of my dreams - in 1 visit. She listened to what I wanted and brought out a number of beautiful dresses, but ultimately I found a Maggie Sottero that I loved. The seamstress, Mina, was terrific! She took her time and charged one flat rate for my alterations. My dress was perfect and I thank her for that! " more
